This is an inner child meditation and breath work.
Let's begin by finding yourself in a comfortable and supported position,
Seated or lying down.
Close your eyes and start taking deep and gentle breaths through the nose.
Feel your body move as you breathe.
As you inhale your chest and your belly rises and as you exhale they contract.
Feel the air against your skin and as you inhale feel it entering into your body,
Cool and then as you breathe in take your awareness inside,
To that still quiet place within where you feel strong and centred,
Where you feel grounded,
Where you feel wise and full of love and just take some breaths here,
That's it.
Enjoy these moments of stillness before we go on our journey.
Now when you are ready,
Imagine that you are standing in front of a childhood home.
It is up to you when this was in your life and which home,
Maybe from when you were very young,
A child or a teenager,
But there will be a home that is calling to you now.
Imagine you are standing a little way outside so you can see the whole of the building.
Take some breaths here,
What does it feel like to revisit this place?
Take it all in and slowly move towards the entrance and when you are at the threshold just pause for another few breaths.
You are going to explore this home of yours,
You are going to revisit some of the rooms inside and at the very heart,
In one special place,
There is someone waiting for you.
Now take one more breath and step inside.
What can you see,
What can you smell,
What can you hear and what can you feel?
Soon you will go to the heart of this place where there is someone special,
Your little one waiting for you,
But before then,
Take your time to explore,
Visit as many of the rooms and as many of the memories as you need to.
Now it is time to go on that journey to meet your little one.
They are waiting for you at a special place,
Maybe in a bedroom,
Maybe in a playroom.
Pause before the doorway,
Take a deep breath.
When you enter,
Your little one,
Your inner child is playing,
Is doing something that you loved to do.
They look up and as they see you,
There is a recognition.
There is no shyness,
No nerves,
You are a trusted and loved person in their lives.
You are beckoned over and you join in,
Whatever they are doing and just enjoy this moment.
As you play,
Maybe there are words that you want to say to your little one.
Maybe there are messages that they need to hear from you and it may not be spoken.
It may just be a shared moment or a touch,
A hug or a hold,
But use these few moments before we go on our breathwork journey together to really connect with your little one,
Really feel them,
Realise how much potential they have,
Their skills,
Their abilities,
Their passions and the love inside them.
Enjoy these moments together.
Now it is time to leave,
But you will not be going alone,
You will be leaving this home together,
Hand in hand.
You rise together,
Take a look around the room and then you leave,
Making your way back through the home and outside.
Together you turn to take one last look.
It is time to leave this moment in your life and as we go on our breathwork journey together with your little one,
By your side and maybe even your inner elder at your back,
We will be revisiting other moments in your life.
And these may be moments where you were challenged and where you forgot that little part of you,
That innocent and vulnerable and lovable part of yourself.
Maybe where you forgot that you had all of this potential inside you,
All of this love inside you,
But it may be moments from your childhood that you loved and treasured,
Moments with family or friends or special moments.
Where your breath takes you will be up to you.
Are you ready?
Now let's begin.
Open your mouth wide,
Really wide.
Taking full,
Deep,
Beautiful breaths.
Active on the inhale and letting go on the exhale.
And keeping your breath connected with no pauses at the top and no pauses at the bottom.
Like waves coming in and out on a shore.
That's it.
Now surrender to your breath as we go on our breathwork journey to different places,
Different moments in your life,
Whether happy or sad,
Whether challenging or joyful.
Let your breath be your guide.
That's it.
Keep breathing.
Stay present with your breath wherever your breath takes you.
Go at your own speed,
Your own pace and your own depth.
But let your breath guide you to whichever moments you and your little one need to visit.
As you breathe,
As you feel,
Allow your heart to open.
Your little one is still there,
Still with you.
And if there are words that they need to hear or that you need to hear,
Let them come.
Your inner elder is with you always at your back,
Keeping you safe.
So wherever you go in this journey,
Whatever you need to feel,
Know that you are safe and you are loved.
Stay present with your breath.
Stay committed to your breath,
Deep,
Beautiful breaths at your own speed,
At your own pace.
But keep breathing,
Keep feeling wherever your breath takes you.
Feel the hope,
Feel the love,
Feel the possibility in your heart.
Wherever you are on your journey,
Breathe it all in.
That's it.
You can do this.
You can do this together.
Maybe there is another moment.
Maybe there is another person in your life you need to connect to right now.
With your little one,
Maybe with your inner elder too.
Keep listening to the words that need to come into your heart or through your lips.
Keep breathing.
Wherever you are,
You are safe and you are loved.
Deep beautiful breaths,
With no pauses at the top and no pauses at the bottom.
Trust your breath,
It will give you what you need and surrender to it,
Let it take you away.
That's it.
Keep breathing and keep feeling.
Take a moment,
Pause and breathe.
Maybe there is another moment that you need to visit with your little one.
Maybe a moment of joy,
Of light,
Of fun.
Maybe with someone else.
You deserve to feel those moments as well,
So breathe that in as well.
That's it.
That's it.
You can do this.
Let your breath guide you,
Let it take you where you need to go.
Full deep beautiful breaths,
Stay present and stay committed and trust your breath.
Trust your breath.
That's it.
That's it.
This is the last track of the climb,
So use these moments to really charge your body.
Fill it with air,
Fill it with energy and fill it with love.
Keep breathing,
But keep your breath gentle,
Keep it soft.
Let it open you up,
Let it shine light in your heart.
Your little one needs you and loves you and is with you too right now.
This is the last track in our inner child breathwork journey together,
So if there are any other places,
Any other moments or any other people that you need to connect to with your little one,
Breathe them in now,
Breathe them in,
Breathe them in.
Soon our journey will come to a close and it will be time to say goodbye,
Goodbye to our little one,
At least for now.
So start to take some final breaths together.
We will have a few moments of quiet to truly bring this journey to a close and then one final track to bring us back.
Let your mouth close,
Breathe through your nose and put pauses in at the top and the bottom.
Start to bring some movement to your body,
Fingers and toes first,
Maybe your wrists and elbows,
Maybe your shoulders and your hips.
Bring it really gently,
Really kindly.
When you are ready,
Roll onto your side and take a few breaths there.
When you are ready,
Come up to sitting and stretch,
Stretch your arms out wide and then wrap them around you and hold yourself,
Hold yourself.
Blink your eyes open,
Have a look round the room that you are in as our journey comes to a close.
Thank you for journeying with your little one.
Go safely on from here.
