Welcome,

This is a guided meditation to release anxious thoughts.

So just begin in a comfortable seat or you can practice this lying down anywhere comfortable making sure you feel peace in your body at least just for right now letting yourself settle into whatever it is if you are sitting or lying you may be on a bed in a chair on your yoga mat or on a cushion wherever you are lets come into our bodies together by taking a deep breath in and letting it go through your nose or through your mouth and lets take three more deep breaths like that.

Let your body sink into your seat wherever you are continuing to let the breath flow and sigh it out as much as you need to to feel a sense of release a sense of relaxation.

I invite you to go on a journey within your mind you might close your eyes for this practice you might keep them open anything is fine through your minds eye in your imagination I invite you to see yourself sitting at the base of the beautiful tree just letting your breath flow naturally breathing in breathing out and in your mind you are just breathing in breathing out under this big beautiful tree.

Notice the base of your body sitting underneath this tree maybe you look down and pay attention to what you are sitting on maybe its the grass perhaps you are sitting on some moss or a bed of leaves maybe its dry earth.

I invite you to let your body sink a little bit deeper into your seat feel the sensation the earth holding and supporting you here as you sit under this big beautiful tree on the ground on the earth.

Notice the colours that you see in your mind and the space that you are in maybe its vibrant green grass or autumn leaves notice the smell of the earth that grounding scent breathing it in letting yourself be here in this peaceful place on the earth under this tree knowing that this is safe this beautiful place is just for you maybe you notice the sounds of nature around you birdsong or insects just taking in this scene all around you greens maybe the blue sky above you and you might turn around and notice the tree that you are under this beautiful tree maybe you notice its strong roots all around you on the earth maybe you notice the strong tall tree trunk and the texture of the bark as you continue to breathe just marvelling at this beautiful space you are in you might look all the way up and see the trees branches way up high reaching all the way into the sky and spreading out wide right above you maybe you notice its leaves notice what colour they are just breathing noticing the space that you are in feeling your belly rising as you inhale gently fall away as you exhale maybe you notice grass around you and as you look around you also notice that this tree that you are sat underneath is on the back of a gentle stream and you can see the stream maybe you can even hear the sound of the water flowing right next to you its crystal clear water flowing gently over the rocks at the bottom of the you watch the stream you watch that flow of water and it carries on all the way down and then out of your sight this crystal clear water travelling through your space and then out of sight continuing on its journey the water flowing gently maybe bubbling swelling and as you breathe you just take in all this beauty around you watching that flow of the water the tree the leaves above you breathing in breathing out as you continue to just observe the space that you are inhabiting you notice a leaf from this beautiful tree dropping off of its branch falling into the stream and you watch as that leaf drifts down carried by the water moving all the way through and out of your line of sight over the horizon just breathing watching this happen and i invite you next time a thought drifts into your mind maybe its something its making you feel a certain way perhaps bringing up uncomfortable feelings just know that that thought is separate to you you have thoughts you are not your thoughts you can observe them just as you are observing this scene around you this tree this grass the riverbank this tree just as you observe your breath you observe your thoughts and the next time a thought drifts into your mind the invitation is to take that thought and place it on one of those beautiful leaves from the tree that you are sitting under dropping the thought onto the leaf and dropping the leaf into the stream just like before the stream carries that leaf with the thought all the way down until its out of your line of sight out of your mind completely and as you breathe just notice that feeling of lightness that thought no longer within your mind but taken out floated down the river out of your sight and as we continue to breathe and observe the water the tree observe our breath you might notice another thought comes into your mind thats perfectly natural with that thought you might again take it take a leaf and drop the thought onto that leaf placing the leaf in your stream and watching as the water washes it away slowly down you can see it for a while but eventually the river takes it all the way out of your line of sight out of your mind completely and as you continue to be here in this natural beautiful place there might be more thoughts that come into your mind its natural our mind just sends thoughts all the time so maybe the next thought that comes into your mind no matter how it makes you feel or what it reminds you of you can always take that thought take a leaf from your beautiful tree place the thought on that leaf drop the leaf and the thought into your stream allow the powerful flow of water to take it away drifting slowly down and eventually drifting all the way out of your line of sight drifting out of your mind notice if those feelings or other thoughts or memories also just drift away with it whether they do or don't there is no wrong way but as you are here under this beautiful tree watching the water listening to the sounds of nature around you you might just continue with every thought that comes into your mind dropping it onto a leaf dropping that leaf into the water letting it flow away slowly drifting all the way out of your mind you can do this practice as many times as you like as many thoughts that come in know that there is an endless amount of leaves supplied by your tree so much bounty and abundance that you can drop every single thought onto a leaf and let that leaf drift downstream out of your line of sight out of your mind you might look into the river and see that there is hundreds of leaves hundreds of thoughts all drifting away out of your mind just breathing and allowing yourself to practice this facing those thoughts no matter how they make you feel no matter what they remind you of you can always drop them onto a leaf drop your leaf into the stream send them on their way down the river out of sight out of your mind I invite you to practice this for the next few minutes or as long as you like breathing releasing those thoughts as they come in letting them drift away carried by the water letting your attention come back into your body breathing in taking in the scene once more this tree this beautiful stream this sky banking it and then letting your attention come back into your body breathing in filling up the belly breathing out through the nose or the mouth just take several deep breaths here come back into the space that you're in your cushion your bed and just know that beautiful place that tree the water is always available to you anytime you need to go there anytime you want to find that peace once again you can go back in your mind sitting under your tree by your stream knowing that you are safe your thoughts can always placed on those leaves sent down the stream out of your mind and then let yourself come back into the present moment maybe the breathe movement into the fingers the toes take another deep breath in let it go and whenever you're ready open your eyes and enjoy the rest of your day.
