Welcome.
Take your rightful place around our sacred fire and enjoy this gentle somatic journey to your root chakra.
Please listen only when it is safe for you to relax fully.
You are in control of your experience and you may return to wakefulness at any time.
Settle into a comfortable position seated or lying down with your body fully supported.
Close your eyes when it feels right and allow your awareness to settle into the present moment.
Now bring your attention to your breath noticing its natural rhythm either at the nostrils,
The chest or the belly.
Now gently invite a slightly longer exhale and inhale allowing your body to relax more deeply with each out-breath.
This simple shift helps your nervous system settle and signal safety to your body.
Bring your attention to the sacred pause between the inhale and exhale and rest in the pause for a moment noticing the stillness,
The calm awareness that exists naturally at the center of each breath.
This sacred pause is your anchor connecting you to the nature of being,
To the present moment and to your body's innate wisdom.
Now let's explore a breath exercise to further support your body's relaxation.
In a moment I'll ask you to inhale slowly for a count of four feeling your belly expand.
Find the sacred pause at the top of the inhale for a count of two then exhale slowly for a count of six allowing your body to soften,
Shoulders release,
Pelvis sink,
Muscles relax and find a sacred pause at the bottom of the exhale for a count of two.
So on the next inhale breathe in for four,
Hold for two,
Out for six,
Hold for two,
In for four,
Hold for two,
Out for six,
Hold for two.
Repeat this two or three times letting the rhythm guide your nervous system into a state of calm,
Safety and grounded presence.
Notice how your body softens,
Your heartbeat slows and your awareness rests in that sacred pause.
If at any time breath feels uncomfortable simply return to your natural easy rhythm.
There's no need to force anything.
With each exhale imagine releasing tension,
Vigilance,
Worry.
With each inhale imagine drawing in support,
Stability and grounding from the earth beneath you.
Return often to the sacred pause allowing it to anchor your attention and deepen your attunement to the present moment.
Now bring your awareness to your feet and legs,
Feel the toes,
Soles of the feet,
Ankles and calves,
Knees and thighs becoming heavy,
Warm and relaxed.
Feel that relaxation spread into the pelvis,
To the lower abdomen,
Softening tension,
Letting go of any holding patterns.
Feel this calm rise into the hips and the lower back,
Gently releasing tightness.
Let the belly soften,
Feel the relaxation spreading up into the chest,
The shoulders and down into the arms,
Down into the hands,
Fingers and thumbs.
With each exhale feeling more and more relaxed.
Finally bring your awareness to your jaw,
Face and scalp,
Letting the muscles soften completely.
Your entire body now rests in a calm steady field of awareness.
Return often to the sacred pause between the inhale and exhale,
Sensing attunement with your body and the present moment.
Now let's turn our attention to the direction of the west,
The element of earth,
The wisdom of the body,
Mountains,
Trees,
Stones and ancestral lands.
Imagine stepping into a sacred stone cave deep in the earth.
Inside you will find a fireplace,
Its merry flames creating a beautiful red glow and a feeling of nurturing.
The ground beneath you is solid and dependable.
There's a gentle breeze,
Cool enough that you can feel it on your skin,
But the temperature is perfectly comfortable.
Perhaps an animal spirit appears to watch over and journey with you,
A symbol of strength,
Protection and groundedness.
This space is yours,
Sacred and secure.
You find a place near the fire that is covered in soft blankets.
You sink into the comfort here,
Feeling fully supported and safe to relax.
And as you relax even further,
Bring your attention to the base of your spine,
Your root chakra,
Your foundation.
This is your connection to your body,
Your home and the earth.
Notice any sensations,
Energies or images that arise.
It's safe to observe them without judgment.
Imagine the base of the spine glowing with a steady red light,
Warm and anchored.
At the base of the spine rests the ancient kundalini energy,
Often described as a coiled serpent of pure life force.
Here in the root chakra,
This energy sleeps peacefully,
Held within the safety of the earth element.
There's no need to awaken or force anything.
Simply acknowledge the presence of this energy,
The quiet potential of vitality,
Consciousness and creative power resting in trust.
Feel that this life force is safe in your body,
Safe to rest,
Safe to rise when the time is right,
Safe to remain still.
Return here often to the sacred pause,
Sensing the balance and stillness between the inhale and exhale,
Allowing this attunement to deepen your connection to safety,
Support and groundedness.
If it feels safe,
I invite you to imagine a young,
Tender version of you entering this space.
Watch with curiosity and feel your heart opening with compassion for this part of you.
And now addressing this part,
Slowly and softly say,
I'm sorry for the burden that you carry.
For the burdens you've carried,
From this life,
Past lives and ancestral lines,
You no longer need to hold these alone.
Please forgive me for any times I overlooked your signals or left you unsupported.
I am here now.
Thank you for protecting me,
Enduring and keeping me connected to life.
I love you.
You belong.
I belong.
We are supported.
Allow each phrase to sink into your root chakra.
Return to the sacred pause at any time,
Letting this stillness deepen your attunement and integration.
Now return your attention to the fire within the cave.
With each exhale,
Release any tension,
Fear or stagnant energy into this fire.
The earth absorbs and transforms what is no longer needed.
Feel the roots growing from your root chakra into the soil below.
The roots reach deep,
Entwining with the wisdom and support of the earth.
This is your wisdom.
This support is for you.
With each inhale,
Draw up the strength,
Stability and nourishment.
With each exhale,
Continue to release anything that doesn't serve you into the fire.
Allow it to be transmuted into brilliant white light.
We are going to take some time and pause here to allow your root chakra to communicate what it needs.
Notice any words,
Images or sensations that might indicate what your body needs in order to feel grounded and solid in each day.
If you aren't sure,
Return to the sacred pause,
Letting the stillness guide your intuition and awareness.
Know now that your root chakra is clear,
Grounded and supported.
You feel safe,
Stable and anchored in your body.
You can return to this place at any time you need support or guidance.
Carry this sense of safety into the rest of your day.
Your body and mind will remember that you belong here and now.
Bringing awareness back to the body now.
The normal natural energy returning to your arms,
Your legs and your entire body.
As you come up closer and closer to the surface,
Feeling good in every way.
The normal natural feelings of weight,
Temperature,
Returning as you feel your body against the surface beneath you.
Returning to here and now.
Take a deep breath in and exhale slowly,
Feeling into the calm,
Grounded and alert body that is here in support of you.
You're wide awake now,
Noticing how good you feel.
Have a stretch.
When you're ready,
Opening your eyes,
Fully present,
Refreshed and supported.
Thank you for allowing the space in your life to meet around our council fire.
I firmly believe that the anchors to our wounds are held in ancestral and relational bonds,
And our deepest healing happens when we are witnessed in community.
These are our collective wounds that we've carried parts of,
And we are now all transmuting them together.
Please leave a note in the comments if you agree,
And let us know what kinds of connection and community your soul is seeking as we rise together.
Be well.
