A quiet, cozy space to write together. Without pressure or performance. This is an invitation to slow down, arrive fully, and put pen to paper. We’ll begin with a gentle 5-minute guided meditation to help you settle into your body and breath. From there, you’ll be guided into 15-20 minutes of spacious writing time with a reflective journaling prompt to support your process. Please note that there is about 15 minutes of quiet time. I know many of you have asked for more silence during writing time so I hope you enjoy the quiet yet held space! You’re welcome exactly as you are. No writing experience is needed—just curiosity and presence. Bring a cozy beverage, your favorite pen, and a notebook. Let’s write from the heart—together. -- This was previously recorded from a live session from The Heart of Journaling Club on 1/11.

Hello!

Welcome.

My name is Brenda.

This is a live kerneling session.

So just a brief intro of how this will unfold.

I'm going to lead us towards a very brief guided meditation and afterwards we'll transition into writing.

We'll write for about 15 to 20 minutes.

I will give us a writing prompt.

I'll give us a five minute warning when we're soon to be wrapping up so you don't have to mind the time.

I will mind it for us and then we will wrap up and that will be our kerneling club.

Let's go ahead and get started in the seat for our brief centering meditation.

Maybe you're sitting in a chair or on a cushion as I am.

Then go ahead and close your eyes if that feels comfortable or maybe look down to the floor or your palms with your eyes a bit open.

Let the shoulders soften down.

The neck to feel a little bit longer.

The crown of the head towards the sky.

The chin slightly dipped in with the nose just pulling back slightly.

Now your breath moving down into your belly as you take an inhale,

Slow and steady.

Let the breath go out the mouth as if you're fogging up a mirror in front of you.

And two more just like that.

Slow and steady breaths in.

Let the eyes soften,

The forehead soften,

Very spacious around the brow point.

Now imagine or bring your attention I should say to the top of your head.

And imagine the top of your head nice and widely,

Spaciously open receiving any downloads,

Any information from your higher self,

From the universe,

God,

Goddess,

Nature,

However you best relate to the unseen.

As we bring our attention there above us,

Imagine this moving downward,

This wide spaciousness,

Openness moving down from the crown of your head towards your brow point,

To your throat,

To your heart center.

Holding the attention there at the heart space,

Finding that heart centered space that as we sit today and write,

Our intentions will come from our heart.

And then move the attention to the shoulders and to the upper arms,

To the elbows,

Forearms,

Wrists and hands.

The hands will be our vessel,

Our writing tool,

The way that we will express and bring gratitude to them.

Thank you hands,

Thanking our hands for everything they do and everything they will do in these next few moments for our writing practice.

And then take a nice big breath in through the nose,

Let it out the mouth.

Looking down at your palms now,

Tipping your chin down.

Again,

That sense of gratitude for your hands,

Your fingers,

The vessels,

The tools that will be used today for our writing practice.

Now go ahead and start to move towards your journal,

Your pen and paper,

Your meditation on paper.

And for today's prompt,

We'll start off with,

This is a time in my life,

Dot,

Dot,

Dot.

You will fill in the blanks of what will come from your heart.

And this style of writing requires us to write from a stream of consciousness,

No editing,

No necessarily looking back,

We're just writing and writing.

And each time,

Maybe we no longer know what to say,

You can write that prompt again and see what else comes up.

As you just uncover this or discover this,

I want you to keep writing and perhaps continue to explore of,

In what kind of light do you wish to create,

Reflect or be?

So go ahead and get started.

I will mind the time for us and give us a five minute warning.

Happy writing,

Everybody.

This is your five minute warning.

If you haven't explored the second prompt,

You don't need to.

But as a reminder,

As I am,

Will explore as well since I only wrote for the first prompt.

And what kind of light do you wish to create,

Reflect or be?

We'll wrap up in about five minutes.

All right,

That is our time together.

If you want to continue writing,

Of course,

You are welcome to.

If this is now your opportunity to wrap up and that is the end of your writing practice,

I hope you had a nourishing writing session in your journal and that you take anything that you've written off into your day.

Namaste.
