This poem is about recovery, and remembrance. Remembering the beauty of all that you are, and allowing yourself to shine again. Not forgetting the broken parts and how they got there, but honoring them. Shining a light on them, on you, so you can heal them.

Time to shine.

It's time to shine,

Dear one.

Come out from the depths of the ocean and let the light in.

Allow your spirit to emerge victoriously,

Stepping into all its glory.

Come out from your hiding place.

It's time to shine,

Dear one.

It's safe.

May the light you allow to once dim regain its rightful place.

Mend the broken parts.

Broken,

But not forgotten.

Pieced back together with shards of hope.

Heal the spaces in between.

Heal the tattered tails,

Bruised and battered from drifters past.

Their dead weight sinking you like an anchor to the depths of the seas.

Cut the cord,

Sever the bond.

Allow yourself to float to the surface.

Shine,

Dear one.

Shine.

The light of the sun's guiding your way.

The murky waters beginning to fade.

A glowing path shines through their shadows.

Seeing the parting as the clouds lift,

Revealing and reflecting their beauty.

Your beauty.

The beauty you forgot.

See her in the reflection in the pools of liquid glass.

Soothing and coating and healing as you rise.

It's time to shine,

Dear one.

Like the stars and the moon and the sun and the sky.

You survived.

It's time to shine,

Dear one.
