Like many things in life,

We love and fear the ocean.

But crossing the ocean requires hard work,

Dedication,

And courage.

Sometimes the fear that we won't achieve our goals stops us from setting sail.

Without courage in ourselves,

We cannot move ahead with new challenges and opportunities.

Like a sailor,

We must be willing to risk losing sight of the shore before we can cross the ocean and reach our dreams.

If you stay on the beach,

Then you won't go anywhere.

The ocean is right there at your feet,

But you need to have the courage to take that first step.

You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.

Welcome to today's meditation for courage.

Let us begin today by taking a comfortable seated position on the floor with your legs crossed.

Gently close your eyes.

As you sit up with your spine nice and tall,

Rest your hands in your lap or on your knees.

Take a nice,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

With each exhale,

Envision your shoulders dropping away from your ears,

Releasing any tension,

Any stress you've been holding onto.

Inhale and exhale.

Let go of all thoughts and begin to observe the inflow and outflow of your breath.

Just like the ocean as the waves come in and out.

Breathe in and let it go.

Notice how soothing this breath is.

Inhale and exhale.

Take a moment to place your attention in your heart and focus on today's mantra.

I am resilient,

Strong and brave.

I breathe in courage and breathe out doubt.

I am resilient,

Strong and brave.

I breathe in courage and breathe out doubt.

I am resilient,

Strong and brave.

I breathe in courage and breathe out doubt.

Allow whatever images,

Thoughts,

Memories or feelings come up as you continue to repeat your mantra.

When we look with honesty inside our own hearts,

That is where we find the self-belief and courage that we seek.
