I am learning from the regrets I notice within me.

Things happened the only way they could have happened.

If I could have,

I would have.

I couldn't,

So I didn't.

I understand that in hindsight it's always easy to see what I could have done differently.

I can only make decisions based on the limited amount of information and time available to me before an opportunity expires.

So I forgive myself for the mistakes I've made.

Looking inside,

I analyze my regrets from the past.

What do they indicate?

What do they inform me about?

What action can I take towards remedying that past regret?

What will I regret not doing right now?

How can I better prepare for the future?

Future regrets can easily be prevented.

I seize the opportunities available to me.

I take sustained and sustainable action towards my dreams.

I plan out how to get there and I walk the path.

I make the most of today,

And sometimes that means doing nothing at all.

I sincerely give my best effort to life.

I live in the now in such a way that it makes tomorrow the best it can be.

I take disciplined action today.

I include playfulness and joy into my actions.

I allow spontaneity and serendipity and synchronicity to help me.

When I look back on today,

What regrets can be prevented?

I can take control of my thoughts and actions.

The more positively I make use of my present,

The more positive options are available for me in the future.

I imagine myself looking back on today from some point in the future.

What will I wish I had done?

Now is my opportunity to do it.

What if done today will make tomorrow easier?

Rather than setting myself up to wonder why didn't I,

I work to put myself in a position of being able to say,

I am glad I did.

With its regret,

There is an opportunity to learn,

Adjust,

And improve.

I learn from my mistakes,

And I do something about them.

I receive value from what I've done in the past.

I bring closure to a regret by noticing the lesson within it.

How many rivers did I have to cross to get here?

Do not underestimate your journey.

Every regret and success has led me to this moment.

I am grateful for this moment.

This moment is my life.

I learn valuable lessons from the pain of past regrets.

Learning from the past,

I become wiser and more experienced.

I use my mind to imagine future regrets.

I am benefiting from the lessons of future regrets without suffering the pain of the actual regret.

By imagining my regrets in advance,

I can take corrective action in the present.

What is standing between me and taking action?

Where do I want to go from here?

One day I will look back on today and wonder why I let so many minor inconveniences to get me down.

What would I regret not doing if I could look back on today from ten years in the future?

What do I regret that I didn't do ten years ago?

What can I learn from this reflection?

What is important to do today even though it might not be exciting but necessary to move forward?

What opportunities are going unappreciated today?

Today is an opportunity to build the life I want.

I understand that regrets have a positive purpose.

I now make the most of the opportunities available to me.

I transform sadness into motivation.

I transform regrets into determination.

I feel my own energy and I direct it in any direction I choose.

I align my energies with my highest purpose and most treasured dreams.

Regrets teach me about my mistakes in a compelling,

Personally meaningful way.

I learn their lessons and transform past mistakes into future successes.

I fill my regrets and redirect their energy into meaningful and productive pursuits.

I learn from my regrets and I act on my knowledge.

I offer genuine kindness.

I offer truth.

I spend time with those I love.

I offer a helping hand to those in need.

I enjoy life's beauty and I take time to learn.

I choose the most positive way of moving forward.

I take up meaningful challenges.

I use my time and energy to create value rather than regrets.

Instead of wondering whether I could have,

I find out that I actually can.

I learn,

I act,

I adjust,

And I eventually get the results I want.

Amor fati.

I love my life.

We make decisions based on limited information.

What if done today will make tomorrow easier?

What I choose to do with my time results in either satisfaction or regret.

I decide how I would prefer to feel at the end of the day and I live the day accordingly.

If I wish to be satisfied with what I've done,

Now is the time to take action towards that direction.

I can create a day that I know has been well lived.

No matter what happens,

I can experience the satisfaction of doing my best with it all.

Living my life intentionally helps me live a life free of regrets and full of satisfaction and joy.

Now is my chance of making the present and future regret free.

I can make the effort now.

I can get it done and over with,

Or I can endure the regrets later.

I decide who I'm going to be,

What it's going to be,

How I'm going to do it.

From consideration to implementation to manifestation,

Today with my purposeful efforts,

I can transform opportunity into achievement.

I make the choices that will make me feel thankful for years to come.

I create marriage gathered in the past.

A great way to make choices is to ask myself if I will regret this later.

I contemplate my words and actions before I commit to them.

I can envision the long-term effects they will have.

In the end,

We only regret the chances we didn't take,

The relationships we were afraid to have,

And the decisions we waited too long to make.

What decisions am I waiting too long to make?

What am I procrastinating on?

If it's still in my mind,

It's worth taking the risk.

I forgive myself for not knowing what I didn't know until I lived through it.

I honor my path.

I trust in my journey.

I learn.

I grow.

I evolve.

I become.

I don't regret the things I've done.

I regret the things I didn't do when I had the chance.

I never regret a day in my life.

Good days give me happiness.

Bad days give me experience.

Worst days give me lessons.

And best days give me memories.

Life is an echo.

What I send out comes back.

What I sow,

I reap.

What I give,

I get.

What I see in others exists within me.

I do not judge,

So I will not be judged.

I radiate and give love,

And love comes back to me.

The only trip I will regret is the one I don't take.

In the end,

People will judge me anyway,

So I don't live my life impressing others.

I live my life impressing myself.

Fear is temporary.

Regret is forever.

When thinking about my life,

I try to remember this.

No amount of guilt can change the past,

And no amount of anxiety can change the future.

I look forward with hope,

Not backwards with regret.

Life is not about who you once were.

It is about who you are right now and the person you have the potential to be.

You can't go back and start again with a new beginning,

But you can start now where you are and have a brand new ending.

Do it now or regret it later.

Making a big life change is pretty scary,

But you know what's even scarier?

Regret.

I stop being afraid of what could go wrong,

And I start being positive about what could go right.

There is no pillow so soft as a clear conscience.

Every next level of my life will demand a different version of me.

I never regret anything because at one time it was exactly what I wanted.

Life is too short to spend it at war with myself.

I reflect on my past regrets,

And I understand why I acted as I did.

By making sense of my past thoughts and actions,

I feel less pain or remorse.

By understanding why I acted as I did,

I can change my thoughts and behaviors that will lead to a desired outcome.

I accept what happened and come to terms with it.

I do not exaggerate personal responsibility.

I overcome feelings of regret by apologizing to those I have hurt.

I take reparative actions by considering opportunities more fully and taking advantage of them while they are still available.

Regrets if used well can help me strive for a life well lived.

I focus on the positive outcomes of regret,

Like learning from my experiences and facilitating growth and positive change within me.

I list my regrets and analyze them.

Regrets help me take corrective actions and pursue new paths.

I learn valuable lessons by analyzing my behavior and its consequences.

Regrets help me by making sense of my world,

Avoiding negative future behaviors,

Gaining insight,

Achieving harmony,

And improve my ability to approach desired opportunities.

There is a vast difference between regret and fruitless rumination and self-blame.

If I don't overcome my regrets,

They can extend their emotional reach for months,

Years,

Or even lifetimes.

Regret is my brain's way of telling me to take another look at my choices.

It is a signal that my actions may be leading to negative consequences.

If there is nothing I can do to change the situation,

Then I choose to let it go.

I forgive myself and I let it go.

I think of what I would say to a loved one in the same situation to make them feel better,

And I apply that to myself.

I consider the circumstances at the time and the limited knowledge that I had.

I acknowledge how I am feeling.

Regret is an emotion and by acknowledging it instead of denying it,

I am able to think of strategies that I could use to minimize the pain of future experiences of that emotion.

By naming the emotion I am feeling,

It becomes more manageable and easier to tolerate.

Regret is universal.

We are all imperfect.

Sometimes regret is just regret.

I believe in my capacity to grow.

Regrets in my thinking can help prevent me from repeating the same mistakes.

I give myself an appropriate amount of time to absorb my feelings.

Small regrets and larger regrets take different amounts of time to dissipate.

Shame and sadness are dominant in regret.

The coping responses to shame are attacking the self,

Attacking others,

Avoidance or withdrawal,

Sleeping and forgetting about it.

Being self-reflective is a capacity of resilience,

Of positively responding to error.

Regret is like a teacher that enables me to look within and can lead me to think deeply about myself.

Getting the lessons to be learned is what causes me the most trouble.

I use moments of regret as motivation for personal growth.

The easier it is to envisage a different outcome,

The more likely we are to regret the lost opportunity.

We go through the present blindfolded,

Only later when the blindfold is removed and we examine the past do we realize what we've been through and understand what it means.
