Releasing What No Longer Serves You
This guided meditation allows you to release what no longer serves you and to cultivate an awareness of bringing in positive energy.
Transcript
A guided meditation on releasing what no longer serves you.
In a seated position,
Comfortable,
And with your eyes closed,
Let's just begin by balancing our breath.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Gently,
Effortlessly.
Becoming aware of the coolness on your next inhale and the warmth of the breath moving through your nose on the exhale.
And on your next inhale,
Finding the pause as the breath turns the corner,
Moving out to your exhale.
Breathing in,
You're aware you're breathing in.
And breathing out,
You're aware you're breathing out.
Giving yourself permission for the next 20 minutes to release and let go.
Starting at the top of your head,
Let's begin to relax our body.
Softening your skull,
Your forehead,
Your eyebrows.
Softening your cheeks,
Nose,
And lips.
Relaxing your jaw.
Relaxing your neck and your shoulders,
Lowering them down away from your ears.
Softening your arms,
Your wrists,
And fingers.
Even gently opening and closing your hands.
Just letting go.
Just bringing your awareness to your heart center.
Opening your heart,
Unlocking it.
Allowing this energy to move through you peacefully.
There's no judgment,
Just effortless ease.
Relaxing your belly.
Just taking a moment and becoming in gratitude for all of your organs doing just what they do innately.
Softening the hips.
Begin to see them unwinding.
Trusting the process of life and allowing us to move forward.
Relaxing your thighs and knees,
Calves,
Your ankles and feet.
And gratitude for supporting us each and every day.
Let the entire body is relaxed and begin to bring an awareness to a warmth that's moving through your entire body.
A sense of comfort.
A sense of peace.
As your body is completely relaxed and warm,
You begin to visualize and see yourself walking along a beach.
The sand is beautiful.
The water is pristine.
The water is calm,
Gentle waters.
Begin to step into the water and you notice that it's not too cold and not too warm,
Just simply perfect.
And as you continue walking,
You stumble upon a dock.
And at the end of this dock,
You see a wooden boat.
There's no one around.
And you begin to walk on the dock and check out the boat.
As you become closer and closer,
You see that this boat has your name on it.
And as you become aware,
You begin to realize that this boat was put in place just for you.
You hear this faint voice in the distance that says,
Unload everything that is no longer serving you and put it into the boat.
You look around and you see no one in sight.
And you begin to offload thoughts,
People,
Situations,
Experiences.
You begin to put all of this energy into the boat.
It may be showing up as boxes,
Small boxes or even big boxes.
It may be people or even any type of situation or experience.
And you begin to feel this boat with those experiences that have been holding you back.
Experiences that are toxic and not allowing you to move forward.
You may be thinking,
Oh my goodness,
This boat is not big enough.
But as you keep filling the boat,
The boat increases in size.
So take as long as you need to fill this.
And as you continue to put these experiences in the boat,
Thank all of those experiences,
The challenging ones.
Because those challenges have allowed you to grow.
Those challenges are beautiful experiences for you to continue to grow and to learn.
Take a moment to fill your boat.
You may be thinking,
Oh my goodness,
This is not big enough.
But as you continue to fill your boat,
You may be thinking,
Oh my goodness,
This is not big enough.
But as you continue to fill your boat,
You may be thinking,
Oh my goodness,
This is not big enough.
But as you continue to fill your boat,
You may be thinking,
Oh my goodness,
This is not big enough.
But as you continue to fill your boat,
You may be thinking,
Oh my goodness,
This is not big enough.
But as you continue to fill your boat,
You may be thinking,
Oh my goodness,
This is not big enough.
But as you continue to fill your boat,
You may be thinking,
Oh my goodness,
This is not big enough.
But as you continue to fill your boat,
You may be thinking,
Oh my goodness,
This is not big enough.
But as you continue to fill your boat,
You may be thinking,
Oh my goodness,
This is not big enough.
You've just about finished,
But you have just a couple more things to put into your boat.
Your boat is full.
And as you look one more time at all of these amazing experiences,
But experiences that are now not worthy,
You can really put a blanket of gratitude over your boat,
A blanket of love,
And then just silently,
Mentally,
Say to all of these things and experiences and people,
Thank you for being a teacher on my path and thank you for my growth.
You begin to untie the boat and gently nudge it away from the dock.
The wind gently speeds up and carries the boat off in the distance.
You still can see it,
But it becomes more faint.
You may feel sad for letting some of these things go.
But in that same moment,
You feel a sense of freedom,
A sense of release,
A sense of being light.
The removing of these experiences is allowing space for amazing new energy to come in.
Begin to affirm silently.
I am open to receive.
I am free.
I am light.
I am love.
I am love.
Keeping your eyes closed,
Just gently bring your awareness back into your body and into the space.
I would love to share one of my favorite poems with you by M.
Clare,
Long at Sea.
I left my home so long ago now that I would not recognize my own face.
I constructed the boat of my life and I set out into the open sea,
Waving to all who knew that the sea would give me everything I could handle and everything I could not.
And yet they waved and I set out into the open sea in the boat of my life,
Built from soul,
Crafted by heart.
With great innocence,
I pushed off into the open sea and have been away from my home so long now that I would not even recognize my own face.
I know that home,
Home remembers me.
Always come out of meditation slowly so whenever you're ready,
You can begin to open your eyes with a downward gaze and slowly becoming fully present.
Thank you for sharing your time with me and enjoy your day.
Namaste.
Thank you.

One of my favorites. Each time a different experience. And although the poem is lovely, for those who do the meditation more often, it becomes a little out of place. Maybe the meditation would be better without.

Well guided in terms of sound, content, and timing. I love this meditation for what it left me with—freedom, space, possibility—as much as for what it allowed me to release. Thank you.

Beautiful imagery that has been perfect -- such a gift throughout the past week during a time of transition in my life's journey. Thank you so much, Avianna, for providing this beautiful meditative process. I am deeply grateful to have found it, like kismet, at the perfect, most impactful moment.
