Welcome and thank you for joining me in this guided meditation for releasing anxious thoughts.
We'll begin by making sure that we are sitting or lying comfortably,
The spine feeling long,
The chest feeling open and spacious.
Be sure to give yourself support anywhere that you need to so that you can be as relaxed as possible in your body.
Begin by bringing your focus to your breath,
Noticing how your lungs expand and contract as you inhale and exhale.
Let your breath flow however it wants to right now.
Simply notice that you are breathing.
Then bring your attention first to your jaw and as you exhale,
If there is any tension there,
Allow it to begin to release a little.
Inhale.
Imagine that you are breathing in ease and when you exhale,
Imagine any fears,
Any tension completely fading.
Take another breath in and when you exhale,
Feel yourself let go of any worries.
Notice that you are becoming more relaxed with each breath out.
Let another breath come in naturally imagining feelings of optimism,
Lightness,
Brightness.
And as you let it go,
Allow depression to ease and fade,
Releasing any sense of weight or burden.
Allow a gentle wave of relaxation to sweep over you as you breathe in and out.
Allow your breath to flow naturally and let yourself feel calm and peaceful.
Allow yourself this moment of serenity.
Feeling open now to receive new thoughts,
Feel that you open up even more with each breath,
Willing to take fresh new energy in.
Open to feelings of abundance,
Trusting that there is plenty.
All that you need is there for you.
Imagine that you are energized and have a zeal and a zest for life.
And even if it's not necessarily true of your present self,
Imagine it vividly and with as much detail as you can.
See yourself full of energy and optimism.
Watch yourself full of motivation,
Taking steps forward.
Inhale,
Exhale and stay with your breath as you allow your intentions to remain positive.
Imagine,
Feel what being joyful is like.
Breathe into this joy you are creating and notice how you are consciously shifting any depressed or anxious thoughts right now,
Allowing for more peaceful feelings instead.
Breathe in deeply,
Exhale completely and relax.
Allow any thoughts that previously held you back to diminish,
To shrink away smaller and smaller,
Leaving them behind,
Feeling free from their grip.
Allow yourself a few more breaths,
A few more breaths,
And let go of your thoughts.
Allow yourself a few moments to continue to breathe naturally and simply be,
Noticing and feeling the change in your body,
The difference between how you feel now and how you felt just a few minutes ago,
Knowing that you can come to a place of peacefulness anytime you need to,
Even just for a moment,
A moment of reprieve,
Of sanctuary,
When you are feeling anxious,
Stressed or worried,
Learning to redirect thoughts,
To breathe away from anxious thoughts into feelings of ease,
Joy and well-being.
Namaste.
