Greetings,
Beautiful people.
Welcome to this meditation on grace.
I've recently been inspired to explore this theme of grace,
A concept that's been with me since my childhood.
I've noticed the many ways in which we can consider the term grace,
A name,
A prayer,
A presence and a connection to the divine.
Some say grace,
Some say we give grace,
Some say we are given grace.
We can embody grace as graceful,
Gracious,
In Espanol,
Gracia,
Gracias.
My practice has invited me to delve a little deeper below the word and into the essence of grace,
The attributes,
Felt sense and experience.
This has been a rich endeavor.
This meditation is an invitation to open to grace.
Grace as presence,
A quiet stillness below the noise of narratives and free from the stories we've been told.
Grace as an inner knowing where patience,
Insight,
Trust,
Faith,
Liberation and spaciousness abide.
Allow yourself to get comfortable so that you can relax and take a deep breath in,
Breathing in a sense of openness,
Spaciousness,
Exhaling,
Allowing the body to release,
Relax and let go into present moment,
Here and now.
Allow an expansion to be felt across the heart space,
Allowing that gentle release to drop down,
Down,
Feeling the weight of the body in the seat below you or your feet on the earth.
Those points of connection,
A reminder of being held.
Take another deep breath in,
Breathing in,
Opening,
Expanding to the center of your being.
Exhale,
Letting thoughts drain down from that brain into the earth,
Being received,
Released,
Surrendered.
Find a natural cadence of your own breath,
Breathing in and breathing out.
Should you notice awareness focused around thoughts,
Allow the breath to guide the awareness down to the center of your being.
Focus on the breath in the belly,
The breath across the chest and the heart space.
Breathing in and breathing out like a massage.
Let the thoughts that carry stories and narratives be light,
Keeping the focus at the center of your being.
Touching in to any measure of stillness that you may find.
Breathing in and breathing out.
With that awareness focused on the center of our being,
Let the mind bring into awareness an image,
A presence of grace.
What does the heart need in this moment and how can it be met by grace?
Is it a stillness?
Is it a spaciousness?
Is it compassion and care?
Is it forgiveness or companionship or trust that everything is just as it's meant to be?
Open to the mystery of grace,
The possibility,
The beauty.
Feel into this presence.
Feel that presence of grace.
Know it's wisdom.
Know it's presence.
Exhale and trust that it's available at any moment to return to open to grace.
You can begin to come back,
Let the eyes open,
Maybe touch the heart.
Take in your environment and trust that this sense of grace can move with you throughout your day.
Take care beautiful people and be well.
