Self-compassion is giving yourself the attention, support, and love you would give to a friend or someone you care for. Educators are excellent caregivers and we often forget to turn that care toward ourselves. Educators work in systems with seemingly endless needs. For educators working with deep care for their students' lives, for justice in our school systems, and to generate opportunities for their students and families, the work can be depleting. Take a moment to turn your care inward. Use that same love and care you show for your students and families to bring kindness, understanding, and comfort to yourself.
