Welcome to this meditation on choosing what truly matters.
My name is Anna Coomore.
Find a comfortable position.
Allow your body to settle.
Gently close your eyes if that feels comfortable.
Take a slow breath in through your nose,
And a slow exhale through your mouth.
Again,
Deep breath in,
And long breath out.
For the next few minutes,
There is nowhere to go and nothing you need to solve.
You can just be here now.
Many of us move through life carrying countless responsibilities,
Expectations,
And ideas about what we should be doing.
Our minds can feel crowded with tasks,
Goals,
And pressures,
But clarity doesn't come from doing more.
Clarity comes from choosing what matters most.
Now imagine you are standing at the center of a quiet,
Open space.
Maybe a mountain,
A mountaintop,
Or an open field.
In front of you hover all the things that ask for your attention.
Work,
Goals,
Responsibilities,
Relationships,
Projects,
Ideas.
Take a moment to observe what is hovering there,
And then notice which ones come to you closest with a warm glow.
Maybe which ones do you feel the impulse to reach toward as if you were picking a flower or reaching out to pet a friendly creature.
Let the answer arise naturally.
It may come as a word,
A feeling,
Or simply a sense of direction.
How do you feel when you embrace the things that truly matter while less important things fall into the background?
When we choose our priorities with care,
Something powerful happens.
Our energy becomes clearer,
Our attention becomes steadier,
And our actions begin to align with what truly matters.
Take another slow breath in and out.
As you breathe out,
Imagine gently bringing your focus to your priorities,
Like adjusting a lens until the picture becomes clear.
You don't have to solve everything today.
You only need to take the next meaningful step.
What is the next meaningful step for the thing that is most important to you right now?
As you prepare to rest or return to the rest of your day,
Carry these simple intentions with you.
I give my attention to what truly matters.
I give my energy to what truly matters.
And I protect my ability to focus on what truly matters.
