Welcome to the Inner Child Meditation by Anne Peterson.
Find a place you can lie down and be comfortable.
This meditation is for you to connect to your inner child in order to remember how loved you are.
The inner child is the little you.
They are innocent,
Sensitive,
Pure.
When we are little,
We rely on our caregivers to look after us.
They need to protect us,
To nurture us.
They need to love us.
They need to see us.
They need to validate us.
They need to take care of us fully,
24-7.
When our caregivers are wounded and have not healed those parts yet,
They are dealing with their own traumas.
They unknowingly hurt us or program us with negative beliefs about ourselves.
This programming can even be come from other sources than our caregivers.
Our inner child has been programmed from home and wherever to believe certain negative things about us.
Now as an adult,
We learn how to be the source of our own love.
We learn how to take care of ourselves.
We learn that we do not need to seek love from the outside or seek validation from the outer world.
We begin to realize that we are enough and that we are the own source to our own well-being and divine love.
This meditation is a journey to meet and connect with that inner part of you.
By doing this meditation regularly,
You will heal wounded parts of you that subconsciously run your life in a way that is not in your best interest.
By healing these parts,
You become a version of you that is conscious,
Aware and able to communicate in that way.
This is a safe place where all feelings are allowed,
All emotions are welcome and all feelings are meant to be fully felt.
You might cry,
You might be angry,
You might be happy.
Maybe everything comes up.
All is allowed and all is totally fine.
Just go with whatever comes up,
No judgment,
No need to fix or suppress anything.
Just feel and enjoy this journey.
So let's begin by slowing down,
By realizing your breath.
Notice your breath,
Are you breathing slowly,
Are you breathing shallow or are you rushed?
Close your eyes if you haven't done so already and feel into your breath.
Begin to breathe in deeply.
Relax your chest,
Breathe in and breathe out.
Relax your shoulders,
Breathe in,
Relax your feet and breathe out.
Relax your jaw,
Breathe in and breathe out.
Continue to breathe in slowly,
Slowly and breathe out again,
Very deep exhales.
Now I want you to do a deep breath in for 5,

Hold at the top for 5,

Take one last breath in really,
Really,
Really deep.
The deepest inhale you have ever done.
Deep in,

In and out again.
The biggest exhale you have ever done in your entire life.
Just breathe out and now continue to breathe slowly and realize how absolutely everything around you is calming down.
You are safe.
You are safe.
Now let's begin the journey.
I want you to imagine going to a very safe place.
This can be an imaginary place.
It can be a place you felt secure in your life.
It can be a place that just pops in your head right now.
Don't think about it too much.
Allow your images to come forth to you.
Trust what comes up first is what you go with.
Just go with what comes up.
What do you see?
Is it a beach?
A cloud in the sky that you sit on?
A meadow?
A crystal cave?
A comfortable bed with soft cushions?
Whatever it is,
Don't judge it.
Don't force it.
I'll give you a moment for yourself to feel into the safe place.
And as you feel the safety,
The security,
The comfort that all is well,
Your place becomes clearer and clearer.
See yourself in that place.
And sit down.
Watch your feet in this place wiggling.
Look around.
Can you feel the divine love?
Can you feel the tingle in your body?
Do you notice how safe you are?
Sit in this moment and just take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Look up and see a little shadow coming towards you.
Look at it closely.
As you look up closer,
You see it's a child.
As the child approaches you,
You realize it is you.
That child is coming towards you.
And the shadow figure forms into a human being.
A child.
A little you.
What age is coming up with you?
Three,
Five,
Eight.
Whatever age you see yourself is the right age for you to connect with for today.
This can change each time you do this meditation.
Just trust what's coming up is meant to come up.
As you sit in your safe place and see you and a child standing in front of you,
Invited over,
See if it's coming along.
It's totally okay if it doesn't.
Trust what is coming up right now.
Whatever feelings and emotions come forth are safe to come up here.
Allow your inner child to come to you.
Allow the little version of you to stay at a distance if it wants to.
Just ask it what it needs.
Ask it how it feels.
And listen.
As you ask it what it needs and feels,
You will feel the emotions in your body.
Let them flow through you and just allow it.
Feel it.
And allow it all to come up.
And give you a moment to listen to your inner child.
Ask it again.
What do you need?
How do you feel?
How do you feel?
How do you feel?
Now that you know what your inner child needs,
Ask it to come closer.
Give it a little bit of a hug.
Maybe it wants to sit next to you.
Maybe the child wants to be in your arms.
Maybe it wants to hold your hand.
Allow what comes up and just go with it.
Now,
Tell that little version of you,
That child in front of you,
That you are sorry for having abandoned it for so long.
Say,
I love you.
I didn't know you were there.
I am sorry.
I don't know.
I truly am sorry.
I'm here for you.
I am here for you now.
I will take care of you now.
I am here now.
You are never,
Ever alone again.
I am here.
From now on,
I will be by your side for forever.
Hold its hands.
Hug it.
Say,
I love you.
And that little child might look at you in disbelief,
Might be very angry.
It might be painfully sad.
Whatever it feels,
Let that feeling be okay.
And say to that little child,
I promise that I will check upon you regularly from now on.
Repeat it and look your inner little child in the eyes.
Say,
I promise that I will check upon you regularly.
I love you.
I will give yourself a moment to listen if anything else needs to be said or if anything else is coming up.
Now,
Ask your inner child how you can connect to her on a daily basis and how you can be there for them when they need you.
And now that you have met your inner child and have connected to it,
It is easier for you to go to that place and meet that little version of you.
You and your inner child have now found a way to communicate.
You now know when and what to do when it needs you.
This connection will always be there.
This soothing connection will help you to feel loved and cared for.
Now,
I invite you to ask your inner child to take you by the hand and show you a happy place.
Where does she take you?
Does she even take you?
It's okay if it doesn't.
Come back another time and ask again.
If it decides to take you to a happy place,
Just watch and whatever comes up is right.
You might go to her happy place and dance with you.
See it smile.
See it being happy.
See it being free.
Feel the joy.
Feel into those feelings and be there in this moment with her or him.
I give you a moment so you can fully enjoy this magical time together.
Now thank your little version for showing up and slowly come back to the now.
Wiggle your fingers.
Slowly open your eyes and be very gentle with yourself today.
