This meditation is for you if you've been left feeling uncomfortable,
Angry,
Sad and maybe overtaken with guilt after letting someone down.
Hello welcome,
Glad you're here.
My name is Enya.
I have uncovered through my own self discoveries that deep down I actually have a huge fear about letting someone down,
About someone being disappointed with me.
And in a recent experience of having to quit a job,
Even though I knew with my whole being that it was the right decision,
I still felt terrible.
So with our meditation today,
I'd like to guide you through some of the steps that help me in releasing the heavy emotions from this very human experience of letting someone down.
So let's begin by settling into your seat,
Taking any wiggles you need,
Fingers,
Shoulders,
Toes,
Your head,
And let yourself get very comfortable.
This is so super important,
So please pause me while you grab a pillow or blanket to help you settle in.
Now find your breath,
Wherever it may be hiding out,
And start to be aware of simply breathing in and breathing out.
Now as you exhale,
Use the letter S sound to help slow down that exhale,
Like you are deflating a balloon.
Let's do this a few more times,
Go at your own pace.
Now let's find your own natural rhythm of breath,
Letting go of any control,
Just let yourself breathe.
And we're going to gently bring to mind some of those feelings that are showing up for you after disappointing someone,
And notice where you feel them in your body.
A heavy heart,
A tight throat,
A sore stomach or head.
Now try not to go back into the story of the situation for now,
As we just want to sit with the feelings.
And if it's comfortable for you,
Place your hands over this area where you feel this feeling,
And gently breathe into that space.
Let's visualize a warm and gentle light.
This light represents compassion and forgiveness.
Allow this light to begin to fill up your heart,
Or to soothe your shoulders,
To clear your throat,
To soften your belly.
Loving yourself more with this warm and gentle light.
And slowly this light begins to expand and fill your whole body with this warm and safe light.
Perhaps there's a pulsing to it,
Perhaps there's a color.
Breathe into the light,
Affirming your worth.
Even though I let someone down,
I love and accept myself.
Even though I let someone down,
I love and accept myself.
I'm okay.
They are okay.
We are okay.
Gently allow your light throughout your body to begin to release back into the universe.
Taking with it all that no longer serves you.
Let it go.
Surrender.
Exhaling through your mouth,
With a sigh,
Sighing it out.
Placing both hands over your heart,
Saying to yourself,
If these resonate,
I am loved.
I am safe.
I am worthy.
Let's begin to bring yourself back into your body,
Into this moment,
Into your seat,
By maybe wiggling your fingers and your toes.
Taking a stretch,
Rolling your shoulders.
A little shake of the hands and feet.
And as you open your eyes,
Let's take a big sun breath by inhaling as you raise your arms out to the side and up overhead.
Again,
A nice big stretch there.
And as you breathe out,
Slowly lower your hands into prayer position at your heart.
Bowing your head is a way of honoring your whole human self and honoring each other.
