A guided meditation to offer some support in stressful times or with a decision through a gentle mindset switch. By asking ourselves the question, What if it was easy? we can bring a different energy and thought process to the task at hand. I am sharing this practice with you as I have found it very helpful and often need the reminder to move from the feeling of overwhelm to one of curiosity.

What if it was easy?

Hello and welcome.

My name is Anya Simmons and I will be your guide today with our intention of what if it was easy.

You can fill in the blank for what it is.

So let's begin our time together by finding an easy way to sit or to be.

Can each leg be in an easy position?

Can your shoulders,

Your right and your left shoulder find a place of ease?

Do you need pillows and cushions and blankets to support you?

Go ahead.

Find an easy way to be.

As you settle in,

Are there any particular movements or adjustments you need to make to conjure up this feeling of ease?

Let your face be at ease,

Your jaw,

Your tongue at ease,

Your unclenched eyes at ease as they softly close.

Can your forehead be at ease?

Can your fingers and arms and hands find a restful place of ease?

And then with ease,

Discover your breath.

Bring your full attention there softly,

Gently.

Breathing in and breathing out.

What if this was all you needed to do in your life right now?

To be and to breathe.

Discover your breath,

Your inhale and your exhale a few more times to help draw you a little further,

Maybe a little deeper into right here,

Right now.

Good.

And then start to bring your breath consciously into your ribs with the same gentleness and ease.

As you inhale,

Be aware of your ribs expanding through the front,

The sides,

The back of the body.

And then be aware as you exhale softly,

Gently fill your ribs,

Come back to their original position.

Inhale,

Fill them,

Expand,

Take up space,

Open just a little more.

And as you exhale,

Let them stack back together.

Four more times,

Inhale,

Feel the expansion,

A bit of move through the front,

The sides,

The back of the body.

Exhaling gently back to the start.

One more time with ease,

With curiosity,

Without any struggle.

Check your inhale and check your exhale.

Letting the breath find its own natural rhythm,

The ease of the breath and the body knowing what to do without any of our involvement.

Coming to mind,

Maybe something that's a little heavy right now,

A bit of a struggle.

Let it be whatever the first thing is that comes to mind.

Using the words in your imagination and embodying the feeling of what if it was easy,

How does that feel,

What if it was easy?

Another way to ask yourself the question is where can I bring some ease to the situation,

To my thoughts on the situation,

To my actions on the situation?

What if it was easy or where can I be more easeful?

And as you play with these thoughts from the mindset,

From the intention of ease,

Can you slowly on your face find a very easy smile,

Just a little chuckle,

Maybe a little smile on the face?

How does ease,

Easy,

Easeful feel for you?

Slowly finding some movement in your body with that gentleness,

With that ease,

Maybe rolling the shoulders,

Maybe looking side to side to move your neck.

Opening those eyes.

Thank you for being here.

May there be ease in your day today.

As with any practice of Anja's this was beautiful to experience. Having myself to look at how I can bring ease to a situation instead of forcing myself to find a 'solution' felt so much better for my body and mind. I got so im the zone during the rib breathing, I can still feel myself being conscious of it even noe after the practice. This definitely gave me the same calming yet refreshing vibes as your other pratice "creating a pause". I truly cannot believe how I can get such a fulfilling practice from every single session with you, even though they're short I find them perfect to fit into my day and I can stay fully zoned in without getting restless or distracted. Truly cannot thank you and your energies enough ❤️
