Hello.
Hello,
My name is Enya.
Come on in,
Have a seat.
I welcome you,
Mama,
With all my heart,
For choosing to take this moment,
The centering moment for yourself before you go back out into your parenting world.
We need to feel grounded,
We need to feel present so that we can parent from that place.
So take a moment to find yourself being comfortable,
Whatever that may look like,
Whatever your need is at this moment,
Maybe pillows,
Blankets,
A warm tea in your hand.
Settle in.
And as you settle into the seated position,
Wherever the seat is,
Can you see if your spine can just be a little bit taller?
Might have sunk in during the day.
So can we be a little taller with the crown of our head reaching up a little higher?
And for a moment,
Just roll those shoulders up to your ears and down the back a couple of times as you exhale in the release.
Good.
Can you feel the areas of your body touching the ground,
The seat,
The blanket?
And as if you could develop roots,
Nice chunky,
Big roots bringing coming down through your floor,
Down into the earth and still continue to have that beautiful long spine.
Soften the face,
Soften your eyelids,
Soften your jaw,
Your tongue,
Loosen your mouth,
Choosing to place your hands perhaps in a position where the palm is faced up to be open to receive.
And if you've got lots of strong emotions going on,
Maybe turn the palms down so that you can go around more into this moment from being rooted down.
And begin to notice that you are breathing.
There is breath inside you,
The life force that's keeping you going is right there.
And as you notice your breathing,
Can you feel where it's coming into the body through your nose or through your mouth?
And then see where it reaches in the body as you breathe in.
And maybe it's all up in your throat,
Maybe it's in the chest.
As you continue,
Maybe you can feel your ribs expanding or the belly growing.
Just notice where you are breathing.
And each exhale,
Allow yourself to root down just a little more right here,
Right now.
And each inhale,
Notice if there's any more space in the body to lengthen,
To take up space.
Giving yourself just these few moments to drop from your head into your heart.
Yeah.
Keeping that jaw soft.
Yeah.
Invite the mantra in from Thich Nhat Hanh,
Buddhist monk.
As you breathe in,
I want your mind to say to you,
I am breathing in.
And as you breathe out,
As simple as I am breathing out.
Come on.
You can do this.
I am breathing in.
Letting it go.
I am breathing out.
I am breathing in.
I am breathing out.
Slowing it down.
And then slowly letting that go.
Begin to pull up those roots that grounded you here,
Feeling comfortable in your seat.
Place your hands over your heart,
Mama.
Thanking yourself for taking some moments for yourself so that you can parent from this place.
