For The Days When Adulting Feels Like Too Much

Hi there,

Thanks for joining me today.

I'm Anita Kaiser,

And my business is Anita Kaiser Wellness.

I'm a coach who works with empaths and highly sensitive entrepreneurs.

I help them find more business success through emotional wellness.

And recently I was on a call with a client and we were talking about a phone call they needed to make.

And this was one of those adulting phone calls,

Right?

You know,

The ones where you have to reach out to the phone company or to a utility or insurance,

Or,

You know,

It's some kind of adult thing that sometimes can be really unpleasant.

It doesn't always go smooth the way we hope it will.

And people on the other end maybe are having a bad day or,

You know,

Whatever is coming up there.

And so I thought this would be helpful because I think many of us are feeling sort of a capacity for our space for adulting these days.

And,

You know,

Things still need to get done.

So I thought today I would just share a little bit of tapping around that for you.

So the way I do this,

It's going to be a call and response.

And I'm gonna say a very general statement.

And if you know yours is,

You know,

If you have a phone call to make,

Or you're going to a meeting,

Or,

You know,

You have a presentation,

Or even if you just have to go to the grocery store and it was not so pleasant the last time you had to go,

I invite you to insert your specific scenario during this.

All right,

So before we get started,

Just taking a moment,

Maybe placing your hands on your heart and just checking in with yourself.

Think about this event,

Think about whatever it is you need to do and notice how it feels.

Notice what's happening in your body.

Notice if there's tension or fluttering,

Just noticing what there is.

And maybe putting a number from zero to 10 on the agitation around this,

10 being the most and zero being not at all.

And just write that number down.

It's just for your own reference to see how this feels.

All right,

So when you're ready,

We're going to begin tapping on the outside of the hand.

Even though I have this issue,

Right here,

Right now,

I'm safe.

Even though I have this thing that I do not wanna do,

I'm now ready to be View.

I've used this over and over again,

Even though I have this issue.

Even though I have this thing,

I do not want to do.

Right here,

Right now,

I'm safe.

Take a moment to just notice how this is feeling for you.

And then when you're ready,

Moving in between the eyes,

Gently tapping.

This thing I have to do.

Outside of the eyes.

I don't want to do it.

Underneath the eyes.

This thing.

Underneath the nose.

This thing I have to do.

On the chin.

I don't want to.

Down to the chest.

This dread in the pit of my stomach.

Underneath the arm.

This thing is stressing me out.

So just shake that off.

Take a moment.

Check in.

Notice if anything's changed for you.

We're going to do one more round.

Again tapping in between the eyes.

I'm dreading this.

Outside of the eyes.

I don't want to do this.

Underneath the eyes.

It's so stressful.

Underneath the nose.

I'm feeling anxious.

On the crease of the chin.

All these things that have to be done.

Down to the chest.

Stressing me out.

Underneath the arm.

This thing that I don't want to do.

Shaking that off.

Taking a moment.

Checking in.

So I want you to once again put a number on it.

And then notice if your number's changed.

Basically whatever that thing is,

You're ready to do it now.
