Find a comfortable position and allow your body to be supported by the surface beneath you.
If it feels safe,
Gently close your eyes.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in.
And a long,
Gentle breath out.
Breathing in,
Relaxation.
Exhaling tension.
There's nowhere you need to be right now.
Nothing to fix,
Nothing to prove.
For these next few moments,
Simply just allow yourself to be here.
Just as you are.
And notice how you're feeling today.
Maybe there's loneliness,
Sadness.
Apathy.
Maybe even a sense of not being enough.
Or a quiet voice that asks,
Why bother?
Whatever it is,
You don't need to push away your feelings.
You don't need to argue with them.
Just acknowledge them.
As if you're sitting beside a close friend who's hurting.
You can place a gentle hand over your heart.
And feel the warmth of your hand.
Maybe even feel the steady rhythm of your heartbeat beneath it.
Your heart has carried you through every disappointment,
Every loss,
Every moment you've doubted yourself every day you got up and kept going.
And it's still here,
Beating for you,
Supporting you,
Loving you.
Take a slow breath in.
And silently say to yourself,
I am here.
And as you breathe out,
I am listening.
Notice what it feels like to offer yourself even the smallest bit of kindness.
Not because you've earned it or because you've achieved enough or that you've become perfect.
But just simply because you're a human being.
A living,
Breathing person who deserves love simply because you exist.
Imagine for a moment that all the expectations you've placed on yourself could soften.
The pressure to be more or to do more,
To have it all figured out.
Just for this moment,
Let it go.
Feel the relief of setting down a heavy backpack you've been carrying for far too long.
You don't have to carry it right now.
You can rest.
You can simply be.
Now bring to mind a younger version of yourself.
Maybe a child.
Maybe a teenager.
A version of you who felt uncertain or scared or alone.
See that version of you standing before you.
Notice the expression on your face.
Your eyes.
Hopes.
Imagine wrapping that version in a warm embrace.
Holding them gently and saying,
You don't have to earn love.
You don't have to be perfect.
You are enough exactly as you are.
Take a moment to receive those words yourself.
Allow them to land somewhere deep inside.
Even if only a tiny part of you believes them.
Self-love doesn't have to arrive as a big grand feeling.
Sometimes self-love is simply staying.
Staying present and staying gentle.
Staying on your own side even when life feels hard.
And remembering that those moments of hard are temporary.
And that we can breathe in and breathe through them and slowly release them.
Taking another breath in of relaxation,
Cleansing your body and exhaling out,
Releasing any tension.
Notice that right here in this moment,
You are not failing.
You are breathing and healing and showing up.
And that's what matters.
Imagine a warm golden light glowing in the center of your chest.
With each breath,
That light becomes a little bit brighter.
And with each breath,
It becomes a little bit warmer.
Not because someone else gave it to you.
But because it was always there,
This light is your worth.
It's your goodness,
Your humanity.
Your capacity to love and be loved.
Nothing can take it away.
Not loneliness,
Not rejection,
Not mistakes,
Not difficult seasons of life.
That light always remains.
Silently repeat to yourself,
I am worthy of love.
I am worthy of compassion.
I am enough.
I belong here.
I choose to be gentle with myself.
I choose to love myself.
I choose to take responsibility for my own feelings,
My own happiness.
My own thoughts.
Let these words wash over you and if your mind wanders,
That's okay.
Just simply return to that feeling of your hand on your heart.
Or redirect your attention to your breath.
Return to the simple truth that you are here and that your presence matters.
Take another deep breath in,
Breathing in relaxation.
And a gentle breath out,
Exhaling and releasing any tension.
Again breathing in visualizing taking in relaxation into your body into your heart letting it fill you.
And exhaling,
Visualizing,
Releasing and getting all the tension out of your body,
Out of your system,
On your out-breath.
As this meditation comes to a close,
Remind yourself that self-love is not something you must find somewhere outside of yourself.
Or that someone else is responsible for.
It begins in this moment with your own breath.
This willingness to stay connected to yourself with kindness and love.
I hope you can move through the rest of your day carrying just a little more softness,
A little more compassion for yourself.
And let your breath be a gentle reminder that you are already worthy of the love that you so freely offer to others.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Thank you so much for listening.
