Welcome to this meditation.
Find a comfortable position and allow yourself to settle in naturally.
You can rest your hands gently on your lap.
If you're comfortable,
Softly close your eyes.
Take a slow deep breath in through your nose,
Exhale through your mouth.
Again,
Breathe in deeply and slowly let go.
One more time,
Breathing in calm,
Breathe out tension.
Allow yourself to arrive fully in this moment.
There is nowhere else you need to be,
Nothing you need to prove,
Nothing you need to fix right now.
Just simply be here.
Notice the surface beneath you supporting your body.
Notice that in this moment,
You are safe enough to pause.
As your breathing settles into a natural rhythm,
Bring gentle awareness inward.
You may notice thoughts appearing.
Old stories,
Self-criticism,
Doubt,
Fear,
The familiar voice that says,
I can't,
I always mess things up,
What's the point,
I'm not good enough,
It will never work for me.
Thoughts like these may have repeated themselves so many times that they feel automatic,
Almost believable,
But today you are not here to fight these thoughts.
You are here to see them clearly,
To notice you are not your thoughts.
Create a little space between you and the voice of self-defeat.
You are the awareness observing your thoughts.
Imagine yourself standing beside a flowing river.
Each thought is like a leaf drifting past you on the water.
I'm not capable is a leaf just floating by.
I'll fail again,
It's just another leaf passing downstream.
I always sabotage myself,
It's just another leaf.
You do not need to grab them,
You do not need to chase them,
You do not need to become them.
Simply watch them pass by you.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Bring awareness to the deeper patterns beneath these thoughts.
Self-sabotage often begins quietly.
Avoiding opportunities,
Not answering calls,
Procrastinating,
Overthinking,
Giving up easily or too soon,
Seeking distractions,
Choosing comfort over growth,
Speaking harshly to yourself,
Expecting failure before beginning.
And often these patterns are not because you are lazy or broken.
Sometimes they began as protection.
Protection from disappointment,
Rejection,
Vulnerability,
The fear of failing or even succeeding.
These patterns once tried to protect you,
But you no longer need to live inside them.
Notice how that feels in your body.
Now imagine standing at the doorway between your old patterns and a new way of being.
Behind you is the familiar path of self-doubt,
Fear,
Hesitation,
Shrinking yourself and staying stuck.
Ahead of you is something unfamiliar.
Trust,
Possibility,
Courage,
Consistency,
Self-respect and growth.
The old path may feel safer because it's familiar,
But it is also heavy.
The new path may feel uncertain,
But it leads towards freedom.
Imagine yourself stepping gently towards your new path,
Not perfectly and not all at once,
Just a small step.
Bring to mind an area of your life where self-sabotage has been showing up.
Maybe it's in your relationships,
Your career,
Creativity,
Health,
Confidence,
Your goals.
Notice what happens inside you as you think about it.
Without judgment,
Ask yourself,
What am I afraid would happen if I truly succeeded?
What am I afraid would happen if I fully showed up for my life?
Notice whatever arises.
There is no need to force an answer.
Repeat to yourself,
I release the need to abandon myself.
I release the habit of speaking against myself.
I release the belief that I must stay small to stay safe.
Imagine your inner critic softening,
Not disappearing completely,
But becoming quieter.
And beneath that voice,
Another voice begins to emerge.
A calmer,
Wiser voice that says,
You are capable of change.
You are allowed to grow.
You do not need to earn your worth.
You can make mistakes and still move forward.
You can begin again.
Breathe those words into your body.
Visualize yourself when you open your eyes that you're carrying around a different energy,
A different attitude,
A different approach.
Moving more intentionally,
Speaking to yourself more gently and lovingly,
Pausing before reacting automatically,
Choosing one healthy action instead of the familiar self-defeating response.
Not because you suddenly became a different person,
But because you are learning to stop abandoning yourself.
Picture yourself following through on something important.
Even when discomfort appears,
You stay.
Even when fear appears,
You continue.
Even when doubt appears,
You breathe and keep going.
Feel the strength in that version of you.
The strength already exists within you.
It may have been buried under fear,
Habits,
Or disappointment,
But it's still there.
Take another breath in and as you exhale,
Imagine releasing years of shame and harsh self-judgment.
You do not need to heal through punishment.
You heal through awareness,
Compassion,
And consistent small choices.
Repeat to yourself,
I am no longer working against myself.
I choose growth over fear.
I choose presence over avoidance.
I deserve the life I keep imagining.
I am capable of self-respect.
Feel your body softening.
Feel your nervous system slowing down.
Feel the possibility of becoming aligned with yourself instead of divided against yourself.
Every time you notice an old pattern,
That awareness itself is progress.
Let yourself rest in the feeling of possibility,
Not pressure,
Not perfection,
Just possibility.
When you are ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the room,
Noticing the surface beneath you,
Noticing your breathing,
Noticing the calm within you.
Remind yourself,
I do not have to keep repeating old patterns.
I can choose differently today.
One small step at a time,
I am changing my life and my relationship with myself.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
