This is a meditation taken from Day 4 of my new course on Insight Timer called 'Whispers Beneath An Ancient Sun'. This is an invitation to face your fears and let go of anything you're holding on to. It's an opportunity to dance in the storms in your life, find freedom, and a bit of inner wildness. The main practice is to breathe into and through anything that comes up with courage and an open heart. Note: The thunderstorm will get quite intense. This is intentional and essential for this meditation to do its work and for you to meet any strong emotions/ energies that you're feeling.

Transcript

Gently close your eyes,

Taking your attention just behind your head,

And bringing your awareness into your heart space,

Resting there in the centre of your chest.

And notice how that person is right now,

Sitting here.

Perhaps there's a twang of emotion,

Or a heavy thought,

A roll of thunder.

Rainbows and thunderstorms,

Noticing where they are in your body,

In your emotions,

Be with their energy.

And now noticing if there's any resistance,

Any tightness.

And now with your paintbrush or magic wand,

I encourage you to dab some excitement,

Some madness into this energy.

Clench your fists,

Your arms,

Your legs,

Then release.

And again,

Clench your fists,

Your whole body,

Feel that energy,

Build it up,

Smile,

Then release.

Harness the power,

The energy that you're feeling right now,

Breathe into it and through it.

You are the alchemist,

You can turn any pain to paint,

And you are no longer the hunted,

But the hunter.

Be ruthless,

Dance around this fire,

Conjuring up your most fierce storm.

The fear is yours to play with,

It is getting you ready for something.

Let it release,

You are strong,

Breathe into it and through it.

Breathe,

Release,

Relax,

It's okay.

Breathe into it and through it.

And as the storm settles and you hear the last drops of rain,

Taking a few gentle breaths,

Noticing how you feel.

And then gently open your eyes,

As we end this meditation.
