Welcome.

Today we're focusing on relaxation and empowerment,

Providing your mind and body with the tools to cope with chronic fatigue syndrome and or ME.

Please get comfortable in your chair.

Take a few deep breaths and let yourself settle into a state of calm and readiness.

Gently allow your eyes to close.

Take a deep breath in,

Hold it and exhale slowly,

Releasing any tension.

Feel a wave of relaxation washing over your body,

Starting from the top of your head,

Moving down across the face,

Down through the neck,

Down into the shoulders.

Take your awareness down both arms,

Through the elbows,

Down through the wrists,

Down into the hands and fingers and thumbs.

Move your awareness into your back,

Relaxing,

Releasing the muscles all the way down your back,

Up and round into the chest and down into the stomach.

Let's stop here for a moment and notice the movement in your chest and stomach as you breathe in and out,

Perhaps noticing the little gap between the in-breath ending and the out-breath beginning.

Perhaps noticing a little gap between the out-breath ending and the in-breath beginning.

No need to change your breath at the moment,

Just noticing,

Allowing the flow of the breath to take you a little deeper within.

Move down through the hips,

Down into the large muscles of the thighs,

Down through the knees,

Into the calves,

Down through the ankles,

Into the feet and toes.

Just notice how this simple body relaxation has changed the way you feel.

As always don't try to relax,

Just allow it to happen at its own pace,

In its own time,

Simply letting go.

Take another deeper breath in,

Hold it and exhale slowly as you breathe in and out,

At your own pace now.

Imagine your breath as a healing energy,

Imagine it filling you with light and strength.

Allow yourself to sink deeper into relaxation as I count down from ten to one.

As I count,

Allow each descending number to take you a little deeper within,

Each descending number helping you to drift down into peace,

Tranquility and relaxation.

So ready.

Ten.

Relaxing deeper.

Nine.

Calmness spreading.

Eight.

Shoulders dropping.

Seven.

Heartbeat calming.

Six.

Breathing steadily.

Five.

Completely at ease.

Four.

Drifting down.

Three.

Almost there.

Two.

Deeply relaxed.

One.

Fully at peace.

And all the way down.

Embracing the relaxation.

Enjoying the calm.

Welcoming any little areas of heaviness and allowing any heaviness to gently increase.

As the relaxation continues to deepen,

You're open and receptive to positive change.

Your unconscious mind will always protect you and your unconscious mind will only accept suggestions that are positive,

Healthy and beneficial to you.

And when your unconscious mind recognises any of the following suggestions to be positive,

Healthy and beneficial,

It accepts them gladly.

Allowing these suggestions to become part of you.

Part of your inner world.

Shifting and changing your inner realities.

Now imagine a gentle staircase leading down into a serene garden.

This garden represents your inner sanctuary.

With each step,

You go deeper into relaxation.

Closer to the core of your strength and healing.

Take a few moments now to walk gently and safely down that gentle staircase.

Now as you reach the bottom of the staircase,

You can start to explore the garden.

Feeling the soft grass.

Hearing the gentle sounds of nature.

Breathe in the fresh air.

This is a safe and healing place.

This place is always here for you.

In this garden,

Find a healing spring.

The water in this spring has magical properties.

Filled with energy,

Vitality and healing.

Dip your hands into this water.

Feel its power.

It's here to help you replenish your energy and find balance.

Now imagine yourself immersing your entire body in this spring.

Feel the water embracing you.

Soaking into your very cells.

Filling you with light and life.

This is not just a temporary boost.

It's a profound healing.

A restructuring of your body's energy systems.

Visualise this energy healing any fatigue,

Confusion or discomfort.

Feel it nourishing your muscles,

Your nerves and your mind.

Take a few moments to allow this wonderful energy to soak into every part of you.

As the energy does its wonderful work,

I want to suggest some affirmations.

As I suggest them,

Take some time to repeat them silently and privately.

Take your time to really feel these words.

To make them part of you.

I am filled with energy and vitality.

My body knows how to heal itself.

I am strong,

Resilient and capable.

I am filled with energy and vitality.

My body knows how to heal itself.

I am strong,

Resilient and capable.

As you leave the healing spring,

Know that its effects are not temporary.

They stay with you.

Part of your new understanding of your body and your potential.

Imagine yourself going through a typical day filled with this new energy.

Notice how tasks become more manageable.

How you interact with others with a renewed sense of vitality.

This is not just a dream.

It's a path you're setting for yourself.

Now it's time to return to the present moment.

Bringing with you all the positive feelings and energy.

I will slowly count from one to five.

With each number,

You feel more awake and alert,

Refreshed and rejuvenated.

So coming back up now.

One,

Starting to awaken.

Two,

Feeling your body.

Three,

Three,

Becoming aware of your surroundings.

Four,

Opening your eyes.

Five,

Fully awake and ready to embrace the day.

So glad that popped up today! I have ME/CFS and feeling rubbish (especially in this heat in the uk). It was very relaxing and healing but I’d have loved it to be longer 🙏 ☀️😊
