A mindful meditation for eye relaxation. Very useful for those of us that spend too much time in front of computers! The eyes work hard for us and many of us are so used to smartphones and tablets that we forget how tired our eyes get. This short meditation will give your eyes a break.

Transcript

It's time to relax your eyes.

Your eyes work hard for you,

Especially in front of a computer screen.

Rub your hands together quickly.

Generate some heat.

Keep rubbing and generating heat.

That's right.

Feel your hands getting warmer.

Good.

Now close your eyes and put your hands over your closed eyes.

Put the centers of your palms over your closed eyes and feel the heat.

Feel the heat relaxing your eyes.

Feel the heat loosening the muscles around and behind your eyes.

Feel the heat refreshing your eyes.

And breathe.

Allow your eyes to relax.

Take the time to allow your eyes to relax.

That's good.

Gently remove your hands from your eyes.

Keep your eyes closed.

And slowly,

Gently,

Open your eyes and come back to the moment.

Come back to now.

Be gentle with yourself.

Be good to yourself.

Nice break for eyes. I do wish there were a little more to it. For example, moving eyes while closed to stretch them. Or, gazing at things different lengths away, coming in and out of soft focus. Just 2 minutes longer wouldn't hurt, but I do like the shorter lengths
