Welcome to week two of Peripause.
This week our meditation theme is warmth,
Stillness,
And receiving.
So start to settle into a comfortable seated position or lying down.
And let your body start to soften into that support beneath you.
And taking a moment to really arrive.
Taking a slow breath in.
And a long,
Unhurried exhale out.
Letting your shoulders drop.
Softening through your jaw.
Letting your belly soften.
And then feeling yourself arrive in the present moment.
Nowhere else to be but here.
Beginning to deepen into your breath.
Lengthening your inhale and exhale to be an equal amount.
Finding your sama vritti.
Deep breath in.
Deep breath out.
Deep breath in.
This place where nourishment becomes energy.
Where food becomes steadiness.
And breath becomes clarity.
With each inhale feeling the warmth brighten.
With each exhale feel it spread through your body.
Feeling that warmth on your inhale.
Exhale,
Feel that expansion.
And then placing one or both hands on your belly.
Feeling the rise and fall beneath your palms.
Inhale,
Feeling the belly gently expand.
Exhale,
Feeling the body settle and release.
Letting your breath be warm and slow.
Like the steam rising from a bowl of soup.
Like the quiet pause at the end of your breath.
Allowing the warmth under your hands to remind you that you do not need to rush.
You do not need to tighten.
You do not need to hold everything at once.
This moment is for receiving.
Now imagine you've just finished your warm midday meal.
It was nourishing.
It was grounding.
Now start to feel yourself choosing stillness.
Feel your whole body letting digestion take place.
Feel your belly soften.
Your nervous system unwind.
And your breath smoothing out.
You don't have to do anything right now.
Your only job is to be.
Let these next breaths feel like a settling.
Down into your hips.
Legs.
And into the earth beneath you.
With each exhale,
Releasing any tension you've been carrying.
And your shoulders.
Your ribs.
Your mind.
Your heart.
Let it all fall away.
As you rest here,
Repeat quietly in your mind.
Stillness restores me.
Stillness restores me.
Stillness restores me.
Let these words ripple into your belly.
And into the deeper layers of your being.
The parts of you that crave softness.
That crave rhythm.
And having that energy in this season of life.
Feeling your inner fire burning steadily.
This is the balance your body longs for in winter.
This is the steadiness your hormones respond to.
And the rhythm that brings you back to you.
Taking one slow,
Warm breath in.
Exhale through the mouth,
Letting anything left over melt away.
Gently wiggling your fingers and toes.
And inviting a soft stretch through your body.
When you're ready,
Start to return to the space around you.
Carrying this warmth,
This stillness and nourishment.
Into the rest of your day.
