Hello,

It's time to rest.

But before you get too comfortable,

Take a moment to stretch out your body.

Maybe wiggle your body around a little bit.

Get all the wiggles out.

You can reach your arms over your head and reach your legs away from you and get really long just like a cat stretching.

It's time to rest.

And the good news is you're in your safe,

Cozy bed.

And you're in your safe,

Cozy room.

You can look around your room now and notice all the little things surrounding you that you love that make you feel safe and comfortable.

And maybe you have something in your bed that makes you feel safe and comfortable.

Is it your blanket?

A stuffed animal?

You can pull that blanket or stuffed animal right next to your face and your chest and give it a hug.

Feel the softness and the safeness and the coziness snuggling up around your face and your head and your chest.

Sense the safety and the ease and coziness of your bed all around you.

The space feels so safe and so comfortable that you might feel like you can close your eyes.

And if you'd like to close your eyes,

I invite you to do that now.

With your eyes closed,

You can still feel the safety of your bed and the coziness of your blanket or your stuffy.

Everything still there,

Still so comfortable,

But the eyes begin to get heavy and you trust that you can begin to settle.

You can begin to relax down into your bed.

And your bed can hold your body as you begin to soften your body towards the bed.

You can soften your legs now,

Letting them get heavy and relax into the bed.

Your legs have done all the walking they need to do for now and now they need to rest.

I invite you to relax your arms.

Your arms have done everything they need to do for now and now they need to rest.

You can relax and settle your belly and your back and your shoulders into your bed.

You can relax your head.

Let it be heavy.

Let your head sink into your pillow.

And let the comfort of your pillow support your head.

Sense your whole body in complete comfort.

Just for now,

There's nothing you need to think about.

Just for now,

There's nothing you need to do.

Just for now,

You can rest completely,

Letting your cozy bed support you.

You might not feel sleepy yet.

And that's okay.

Just keep softening your body.

Just keep sensing the softness of the bed.

And notice how the bed supports you.

Your bed is a safe,

Warm,

Relaxing place where you can completely let go.

Just keep breathing.

Relaxing.

Sinking in.

Resting.

Feel the softness of rest spreading through the body.

And as you rest,

Every part of your body is nourished.

All of your energy is restored.

Feel your body being nourished.

Feel your body being restored.

Sweet dreams.

Good night.

Good night.

My 7 year old fell asleep in minutes, having calmed down from an episode of feeling afraid of the dark. Thank you!
