Welcome.

Go ahead and take a few moments to disconnect from what's going on around you.

Let your surroundings fade so you can fully direct your attention to this visualization.

Relax your body.

Take a deep breath or two and drop your gaze or close your eyes,

Whichever feels better for you.

In today's visualization,

We'll visualize successfully meeting a deadline.

Take a moment and continue breathing deeply,

Allowing your body to relax.

Relax your jaw.

Relax your throat.

Relax your shoulders.

Relax your abdomen so your diaphragm can expand and contract fully.

It's important to know what it feels like in the body to be relaxed.

This sense of relaxation helps you reduce your stress as you work towards your deadline.

So imagine that date,

The date that your project is due on the calendar.

Is it a Monday?

Is it a Friday?

Really get a good sense of what it looks like in graphical form on your calendar.

That will help you stay connected to the date that your project is due.

Next,

Visualize your product.

Are you writing an essay?

Are you building something?

Are you designing something?

Whatever it is,

Take a moment to see it in its completed form.

See it in its complete perfection as if it's ready to turn in on the date of the deadline.

Look at what you've created and be pleased.

Know that you have done your best and you're ready to turn your project in.

And now visualize your to-do list.

It might be long with multiple items and that's okay.

Bring this particular project to the top of the list.

Imagine it being written in bold and in a larger font than all the other things to do.

And then as you watch that to-do list,

All of the other items fade away,

Leaving you with just one thing to do.

This project.

It's okay to sweep everything else aside and focus on one thing.

It helps you become more productive.

The other things will all get done in their own time.

But this one particular project is the one that holds your attention.

And now visualize yourself working on the project.

If you're writing,

Imagine opening your laptop and putting words on the page.

If you're building something,

Imagine going to the shop where all of your tools and your materials sit and begin working on this object you're creating.

Whatever it is,

Visualize yourself doing the work that needs to be done to complete this project.

And check back in with your body.

Remember the relaxation we felt at the beginning of the visualization.

Put yourself back into that relaxed state as you visualize working on your project.

The words flow easily.

The item you're building comes together smoothly.

And above all else,

It's fun.

You enjoy working on this project.

It's not stressful.

You get into a state of flow.

And although you could spend hours in one block working on this,

You know that the healthy thing is to take breaks.

So see yourself stepping away from the computer,

Stepping out of the shop,

Stretch a little,

Roll your head on your neck,

Walk to the other side of the room,

And look out a window.

Then grab yourself some water,

Take a drink,

And come back to your project refreshed and renewed,

Ready to go.

By viewing your project as something fun to work on,

Something that puts you into a flow state,

And something that you can focus on,

Helps you meet your deadline.

Rather than worrying about anything else,

The things you're not doing,

Joyfully put your energy into the one thing you are doing,

So that when that date on the calendar finally arrives,

You'll be ready.

You'll be proud of what you've accomplished as you turn your project in and meet your deadline.

And release all the visualization,

And just take another breath or two.

Feel how good it feels to have that project off your list.

Notice that deep sense of relaxation and pleasure from a job well done.

And know that you can take this visualization with you for any project you need to work on,

Where you have a deadline to meet.
