Hi,

I'm Amy Patti Colvin.

Thanks for joining me for this meditation on finding peace with yourself.

Find a comfortable position.

You could be in a chair,

On a cushion,

Lying down.

If you're sitting in a chair or on a cushion,

Tip your pelvis just a little bit forward and imagine being lifted gently up at the crown of the head.

This creates an elongation of the spine and creates an opportunity for the energy to flow more freely from the tailbone to the crown of the head.

It also puts your spine in alignment,

Allowing your structure to take your weight rather than your muscles.

Drop your gaze or close your eyes,

Whichever is more comfortable for you today,

And begin breathing gently and deeply in through the nose all the way down into the belly,

Allowing the belly to relax so the diaphragm can fully expand and contract.

Notice any areas of tension in your body,

In your muscles,

And allow that tension to relax and melt as you continue breathing into the belly.

And bring to mind an image that represents compassion.

It could be the image of a wise person you deeply respect or a religious figure or a symbol that represents compassion.

Or it could be an image from nature,

A wide expanse of ocean,

A deep rich sunset,

A mountain top,

Or a giant maple tree spreading its branches and leaves.

Or it could be the Sun which shines its light and warmth on all beings without discrimination.

Imagine yourself and the presence of this compassionate image.

Imagine its compassion flowing over you,

Surrounding you fully.

There is no judgment,

Only total acceptance.

And in the presence of this compassionate image you feel a profound sense of personal peace.

You are content and at ease,

Fully at peace.

Knowing that you are buoyed and supported by all of that compassion flowing forth to you from that compassionate image.

Relax into this feeling of peace.

Open your heart wide and release any sorrows or worries or concerns into the air around you.

And know that all of those sorrows or worries are absorbed by this compassionate image and transformed into more peace and love and compassion extended back to you.

Fully relax in this knowing that you are surrounded by non-judgment.

Deeply sink into that sense of peace that comes with the contentment of knowing that you are enough.

Let the strength of this compassionate image connect you to your own internal source of strength,

Peace,

And well-being.

Notice what it feels like in your belly,

In your heart,

In your throat and mind to be completely at peace.

And quietly in mind for yourself repeat the following phrases.

I am safe.

I am at ease.

I am kind to myself and accept myself as I am.

I am filled with peace and joy.

Recognize that your greatest responsibility in this lifetime is to be at peace with yourself.

Being at peace with yourself opens your heart to yourself and to others.

Being at peace with yourself paves the way for non-judgment for self and others.

And one last time recognize the presence of that compassionate image and all of the compassion that flows to you from this image.

Enjoy that sense of knowing that there is no judgment,

Only complete acceptance.

As that compassionate image extends peace towards you,

Embrace that peace and allow it to fill your heart.

And as you find peace,

Extend that peace towards others.

And notice what it feels like in your body,

In your heart,

And your mind to relax into peace.

And as we bring this meditation to a close,

Take that sense of peace with you as you move on in your day.

I look forward to talking with you again soon.
