Sometimes in your day you feel a bit of fatigue or sleepiness. This meditation helps you reenergize by visualizing the flow of energy throughout your body. Recognizing and directing your internal energy/qi through your body brings balance to the body and increases relaxation. So rather than having a cup of coffee, tea, or soda, try this technique for relaxing and energizing at the same time.

Hi,

This is Amy.

In today's meditation,

We will work with our awareness of energy flow in the body.

If you like to use imagery,

You can imagine the energy as a golden white light,

Or you can simply imagine or feel the essence of the energy.

If you don't have a sense of feeling the energy,

That's okay.

It takes practice.

Just know that your intention is enough to help move the energy flow.

Begin by finding a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down,

And take a few deep breaths in through the nose,

And begin to let your body and mind relax.

Allow yourself to simply relax and be.

Then bring your attention to a place in the center of the body a couple finger widths below the navel.

This is the dantin,

The source of all our internal energy,

Or chi.

Hold your attention here for a few breaths.

If you like,

You can imagine a warm,

Golden white light,

Or simply feel the essence of warmth and energy.

Over the next couple breaths,

Draw the energy up to the level of the heart.

As you move the energy,

You can time it with your breath,

Or you can simply let it flow at its own pace,

Whatever works best for you in this moment.

And then guide the energy back down to your dantin.

From the dantin,

Split the energy and move it down your inner thighs,

Past the inside of the knees and calves.

And guide the chi under your ankle bones to the inside corners of your big toes.

And imagine the energy moving into the base of the sole of your foot,

To a spot just behind the ball of your foot,

Halfway between the inside and outside edges of the foot.

From there,

Draw the energy to your heel and move it up the back of your legs,

And have it come together,

Merging at your tailbone.

Now guide the energy up along the spine,

To the base of the neck,

To the spot between the shoulders.

From here,

Split the energy into two and guide it through your shoulders,

Out through your underarms,

Down the inner side of your arms to the crook of your elbow,

Down to your hands,

And towards the tips of the middle fingers.

Move the energy over the tip of your middle finger,

Up the back of the hand,

Up the back of the forearms,

Past your elbows,

The outer side of your upper arms,

Toward your shoulders to merge again at the base of your neck.

From here,

Bring the chi up into the base of the skull.

From the base of the skull,

Split the energy into two and draw it up and around the back of your ears,

Over the top of the ears,

Down the front,

And back to the base of the skull.

From the base of the skull,

Guide the energy straight up into the center of your brain,

Pulling for a moment right there in the middle of the head in the center of the brain.

Then draw the energy forward to your third eye,

Located between the inner edges of the eyebrow,

And remain there for a few moments.

Then imagine the chi moving back down to your dantene along the front center line of the torso.

Moving back into the dantene,

Rest your awareness there for a few moments.

Thus completes the cycle.

If you like,

Repeat from the beginning and do this cycle slowly again and again,

Creating an opportunity for your entire body to be filled with that life force energy.

Wonderful meditation. Truly felt the energy moving and was filled with energy after finishing. At the end, I modified the enemy movement cycle to focus on my lower back and sacroiliac joints, sources of chronic pain.

Good energy meditation, no frills, no music, very easy for me to run the energy through my body again on my own after the end. Beautiful, thank you 🙂
