
Connect With Your Joy

This guided meditation will allow you to connect to all that brings you joy. In a time when the world is changing, inserting moments of joy into our lives is key. Take this time, to connect with yourself and breathe into what can bring happiness into your life today.
Transcript
If you are participating in this meditation in a seated position,
I encourage you to have your feet flat on the floor.
Your hands can be palms facing up or facing down on your thighs,
Sitting in a chair making sure that your back is nice and upright,
Or if you're sitting on the ground that you again are in a nice upright position and your chin is level with the floor.
If you are participating in this meditation lying down,
That you have your head and neck fully supported,
And you may want to put something under your knees perhaps,
Maybe around your hips.
The key is that you are feeling comfortable so that we can have some time of quiet stillness,
Some relaxation,
And I will guide you through this.
When you feel ready to do so,
I invite you to close your eyes and begin to focus on your breathing.
On your next inhale,
Increasing that to the count of four,
Expanding that breath,
And on the exhale to the count of four.
On your inhale,
Expanding four,
Three,
Two,
One,
And on the exhale,
Blowing out four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Focusing on that breath,
Knowing that it's very,
Very normal if your mind wanders,
Encouraging you to come back to your breath and come back to the sound of my voice.
On your next inhale,
I invite you to take your attention down to your feet.
Wiggle your toes,
Crunch up your toes,
Relax,
Roll your ankles,
Point and flex your feet,
And feel relaxation come into your feet and ankles,
Breathing down into your calves and shins,
Unlocking your knees,
Releasing and relaxing your quads,
Hamstrings,
And glutes,
Feeling very,
Very relaxed in your lower half.
You may already start to feel some tingling,
Maybe some heaviness or lightness.
That's very normal.
Breathing into your lower half,
Taking your attention on your next breath in to your pelvis,
Low back,
Abdomen,
Breathing here,
Releasing any tension here,
Any stress being held in this area.
Now,
Taking your attention to your chest,
Opening that chest a little further,
Dropping your shoulders down,
Feeling the relaxation flow from your shoulders down to your elbows,
Releasing and relaxing your forearms and unclenching your fingers,
Feeling your hands become very relaxed,
Feeling very relaxed,
Bringing your attention to your neck,
Breathing here,
Unclenching any muscles around your neck,
Noticing on your next breath where your jaw is.
Is it clenched?
Is it open?
Where is your tongue?
Are your teeth clenched?
Noticing the muscles around your mouth,
Your cheeks,
Your eyeballs,
Your forehead,
Relaxing and releasing here,
Feeling your eyeballs relax in their sockets,
Taking a note in your mind of any other places in your body from head to toe,
Scanning your body from head to toe and sending relaxation and breath to those areas that still might hold a little bit of stress,
Releasing that tension and breathing here.
On your next inhale,
I invite you to see a bright white light pouring down into the top of your head,
Flowing down,
Flows down into the top of your head,
Filling every cell of your head and neck with this bright white light.
It flows down your shoulders,
Down your arms,
Down to your fingertips,
Where every cell it touches glows bright white light.
It flows down your chest,
Flows down your entire torso,
Flowing and filling,
Lifting up every cell,
Igniting every cell it touches with bright white light.
It flows down further,
Filling both legs,
All the way down,
Flowing down this bright white light and all the way down to your feet so that every cell in your being is vibrating to another level.
Your energy is being raised,
Your cells feel alive and healthy,
And this bright white light continues to pour into the top of your head and flow all the way down,
Down,
Down,
And out the bottom of your feet grow the most incredible roots,
Rooting you to the ground,
Grounding you to the earth,
Connecting you,
Helping you to feel so safe and calm,
So secure and so present.
On your next breath in,
I invite you to see a path and this path leads down to the left.
You walk along this path noting what's all around you.
You can feel a gentle breeze on your face,
The sun is shining,
But it's just the right temperature for you.
You walk along this path until you come to a place,
A spot you can sit that you know it is one of your favourite spots to go.
So many happy memories in this spot,
So many moments of joy in this spot,
And you decide to sit down in this place,
Feeling the breeze,
Feeling the sun and the warmth,
Feeling the calm stillness as no one else is around right now.
It's a place that is of great joy for you,
That brings these memories for you,
And you are just soaking them in.
And while you soak in this feeling of contentment and calm from this favourite place of yours,
You are reminded of how critical,
How crucial it is that you are connecting with things that bring you joy.
We only get this one life,
And every single moment,
Every single day,
We get to choose.
And you reflect on how you can add in more opportunities to experience joy in your day,
Starting today,
Starting now.
You get to choose.
And as you sit there in this place that brings you so much peace and calm,
You vow to yourself that this is something that will be beneficial for not only you,
But everyone in your life that you touch.
Everyone will benefit from you connecting with your joy.
Everyone will benefit.
Because as you experience joy,
Your vibration is lifted higher,
And that is the gift that you share with others.
That gift of joy,
That gift of peace,
The gift of calm,
All of these positive energies flowing from you out into your world,
To your family,
To your friends,
To your business associates,
Clients,
All of the people that come into contact with you will benefit from you connecting with your joy.
And you breathe here.
Ideas are coming to your mind.
Perhaps you love to read or run.
Perhaps you love to walk or sit in nature.
Perhaps you like to birdwatch or craft or knit or watch sports.
Perhaps you like to play video games.
Perhaps you like to write poetry or paint pictures.
My friends,
You know what brings you joy.
Connect with an earlier,
Younger version of yourself and remember those things that bring you joy.
Our minutes,
Hours,
Days,
Weeks,
Months,
Years will go by.
It is up to us to bring those joyful actions into our life.
No one else will do it for us.
What brings you joy?
What can you implement or do today to experience even a few minutes of that?
Journaling,
Sitting in stillness and remembering those times,
All of these are beneficial experiences to lift your vibration higher,
To bring you that joy.
As you sit here in this place,
Almost as if by a true gift,
The sunshine pokes through and a beautiful beam of bright white light chooses you.
And it pours down into the top of your head,
Warming you even more,
Filling your head and neck with this bright white light.
It's chosen you.
And this white light continues to pour down all the way down both arms,
Into your fingertips,
All the way down your chest and your torso,
Filling both legs.
All the way down to your feet so that every cell in your body is vibrating bright white,
Beautiful light.
You feel so safe and calm here.
You feel so peaceful.
You feel so content and satisfied.
You know what it feels like to connect with joy.
You sit here for a moment longer and find gratitude for yourself for taking this moment to be,
To be still,
To be quiet,
To be reflective,
And to decide that you are worth it.
Connecting with your joy is absolutely worth doing.
As this bright white continues to flow into your body and these roots form beneath your feet,
You feel so safe and calm,
So deeply connected and at peace.
On your next breath in,
I invite you to release all images from your mind.
On your next breath in,
To move your hands and your feet to come back into your space.
And when you feel ready to do so,
To open your eyes.
