Close your eyes and quiet your mind.

Be still.

Let go of all thoughts,

Worry and tension.

Give yourself fully to a higher power.

Relax.

Trust and let go.

Breathe in fully and exhale with a sigh.

And again,

Inhale and let go even more.

And feel a sense of peace and contentment in your heart.

We'll begin with tension and relaxation.

So tightening the whole body.

Take a breath in,

Fist,

Butt,

Face,

Tight,

Tight,

Tight,

Hold it,

Hold it,

Hold it,

And release.

And on your next exhalation,

Let go even more.

And feel the flood of released energy moving into every nerve,

Every cell.

Now again,

Tighten the body,

Make the hands into fists,

Breathe in,

Squeeze the buttocks,

The face,

The fist,

Tighten,

Tighten,

Tighten,

Hold,

And let go.

Let go even more.

Let your whole body melt into the flood of energy.

Release any holding anywhere.

Now follow my guidance as we begin the so hum sound and breath.

Now start breathing in through the nose as I guide your breath from the third eye down to the base of the spine through the Shishumna.

And as you exhale,

Guide your breath from the base of the spine up to the third eye.

Continue with this breath.

Third eye down to the base of the spine,

Exhaling back up.

Stay focused and feel the energy follow your attention along the spine.

Now we will integrate this breath with the non-vocal sound of so hum.

With each inhalation,

Feel the sound of so as you breathe from the third eye to the base of the spine.

With each exhalation,

Feel the sound of hum as you breathe from the base of the spine to the third eye.

Remain totally absorbed in the subtle vibration of sound and energy moving along the spine.

Sound,

Breath,

Sensation and attention in complete synchronicity.

Totally engaged in the sacred presence of that I am.

I am that.

Deeply engaged.

Totally absorbed.

Completely merge into oneness.

Now breathe normally.

Bring your attention to rest in the third eye and bathe your whole body and entire being in the unified experience of so hum,

Sound and breath.

And as you exhale,

Guide your breath from the base of the spine to the base of the spine.

Experience a deep stillness extending everywhere.

Now adjust your body in a comfortable position,

But do not fall asleep.

Allow yourself to respond directly and non mentally to my words.

Allowing any disturbances external or internal to draw you more deeply within.

In yoga nidra you enter the subconscious pranic field.

Let your mind merge and melt into the energy body and go beyond the boundaries of body and mind.

Now shift from thinking and doing to feeling and being.

Drop into the deepest state of tranquility,

Stillness and peace in the third eye.

Now your consciousness is in direct communion with your energy body.

Now follow my guidance as we move our awareness through different parts of the body.

Let your attention rest on each body part as I name it without comment or judgment.

All ten toes.

Both ankles.

Both knees.

Pelvis.

Chest.

Shoulders.

Throat.

Chin.

Face.

Head.

Back of the head.

Shoulder blades.

Spine.

Buttocks.

Calves.

Heels.

Soles of the feet.

Whole body.

Feel the whole body contained in vast,

Spacious awareness.

Now place all of your attention at the base chakra located at the base of the spine.

Feel this area beginning to glow and pulse.

Sensing the earthly,

Dense quality of this chakra.

Let the grounding be a foundation for awakening into higher centers of consciousness.

See the downward and outward flow of energy being reversed and converted to upward flow.

Drawing up energy from the feet,

Legs,

Into the perineum and up through the central energy canal.

Feel the first chakra open and relax.

Now bring your attention to the second chakra,

Svadhisthana,

Located at the pelvis,

Reproductive organs.

Feel this energy beginning to pulse and glow.

Allowing this energy to nourish reproductive functions and sensuality.

But also divine Shakti is freed.

Visualize your body filled with divine light and love.

Now bring your total awareness to the Manipura chakra located above the navel,

Solar plexus,

Abdominal organs.

Feel this area beginning to pulse and glow.

All the primal forces of control,

Aggression,

Dissolving in the light of your awareness.

Sense it being converted to clarity,

Confidence,

And strength.

Facing all challenges with equanimity and dignity.

Feel you are now free of all limitations.

Your inner core feels vital and strong.

Now bring your attention to the heart center.

Feel the area in the middle of the chest beginning to pulse and glow with green light.

Experiencing the regenerative,

Restorative healing power.

See the heart center transmuting the energies of the lower chakras.

Experience a deep sense of love and compassion.

Let it change your perception of the world.

Feel yourself becoming a beacon of love and light.

Attracting the energies of the lower centers and transforming them at the heart.

Now bring your attention to the throat,

Glowing and pulsing with blue light.

See yourself entering into the expansiveness of the throat chakra from where you can reclaim your voice of wisdom.

You are free from all inhibitions and limitations.

Now bring your attention to the Agnya chakra,

Third eye.

Feeling the area between the eyebrows and about three inches in toward the center of the brain begin to glow and pulse with indigo light.

Feel the pituitary and pineal glands being reactivated and rejuvenated deep inside the brain.

Now see a thousand petal lotus at the crown of the head,

All the chakras spontaneously and effortlessly aligned.

See energy moving unimpeded upward towards the crown chakra.

Whole body surrounded,

Permeated by light.

All boundaries an illusion of separateness dissolving and disappearing into oneness.

Feel yourself as time transcendent presence now.

And over all fear,

Apprehension and anxiety,

But all that you want to change,

Control and manage.

Let go of all doing.

Replace it with trust and faith in the higher power.

Here your intentions and affirmations are actualized and fulfilled with effortless ease.

If there is something you are ready to release that is holding you back,

Make that your intention now.

Allow it to go to the deepest levels of recognition with no hesitation.

Know that your higher self receives,

Honors and accepts your intention.

Have faith and trust that your intention has been heard and is being acted upon by a higher power.

There is no need for you to do anything about it.

Now bring your attention back to the center between the eyebrows.

And feel all the energies of your body from all meridians activated,

Purified and balanced.

All channels are open.

Life force is flowing freely.

Healing the body.

Calming the mind.

Open your heart and feel content.

Now begin to become aware of the rising and falling of your breath.

Establish yourself firmly in faith and trust to receive the grace,

Protection and guidance of the divine within you.

The more often you go to your source,

The easier it will be to return,

The longer you can stay.

Feel the presence of your own spiritual guides surrounding you,

Blessing you.

Accept their blessings and grace.

Embody it and spread it wherever you go.

You are an emissary of light and love.

Carry it everywhere you go and to everyone you meet.

Recognizing at this sacred moment,

Your whole being has made a major paradigm shift.

Know that you are totally unburdened and free to move in life with effortless ease.

Now slowly deepen the breath.

Slowly,

Slowly,

By degrees,

Begin to come back to the physical body.

As you feel the impulse to move or stretch,

You can do so or simply remain still.

Take your time.

Do not hurry.

Perhaps bringing the knees into the chest,

A little gentle rock side to side,

Maybe resting over onto your right side.

Regardless of what you consciously recognize that has or has not changed,

Know that something deep within has shifted to connect you.

Simply notice how relaxed the body is,

How soft the breath is,

How silent the mind is.

Be still and be grateful.

Know that you can enter here again and again.

As you are ready,

Just making your way up to a seated position.

If you can't quite make your way up and you need to remain lying,

That's fine too.

Just feeling the body.

Let's unite our voices in the sound of Aum,

Inhaling.

Aum Shanti Jai Bhagwan.

Astonishing and remarkable. At the beginning I had an image jump in my head from years ago- I could see myself, shouting and angry and in pain. I asked for it to be transmuted and at the end- again, unbidden, the same image came back, my hair in the same style, with a laughing happy face. It’s odd seeing yourself from the outside.
