This is a guided meditation to help you with concerns about the future. It allows you to access resiliency and faith by connecting with a wiser/older version of yourself. Many of my clients with anxiety find this helpful and call upon their wiser self every day.

This is a meditation to help with fears about the future and what's going to happen for you.

So beginning by closing your eyes and getting quiet.

Just feeling your body,

Feeling your body breathing.

It's helpful to follow your breath in the belly,

Feeling the rising and falling of the breathing.

And just taking a few seconds to get settled in yourself and your body.

And as you start feeling relaxed,

I want you to imagine that in front of you is going to be a different version of you.

Your wise older self is going to appear in front of you and this you is going to be maybe 10 or 20 years older.

Just picking a wise older version of you that's enough older that they'll have some wisdom and something to show you.

And take a minute and look into the eyes of this wise older version of you.

See what you might notice about your older self.

What's the feel of them?

And as you look at this older version of you see if there's anything they want to show you about them or what they know.

They might have words of advice or some kind of support for you now that this older version of you would be almost mentoring or giving you some support now and let yourself really see and receive what this wiser version wants to show you or tell you.

Just like it's an informal chat with your future wise you.

See if there's more that this future you would like to show you or tell you.

See if there's any transmissions they might want to give you.

Transmissions of energy or support or almost putting their hands on you maybe even just to give you a download of their wisdom and their maturity.

Really letting yourself breathe and receive whatever is here from this wise older you.

Breathing into their eyes if you can and seeing what else is here.

And if you're wise older you had a final parting gift to give you.

See what that might be.

Really letting yourself take in all of their strength and wisdom.

Knowing that you will be here where they are one day.

It will be so.

It will happen.

So really looking into their eyes one final time and really taking this in.

This is you.

See if your wisdom you has anything more to say before we close.

Any more advice for you.

And thanking them for showing up today and being willing to share with you.

And when you're ready opening your eyes.

If you need to maybe writing down some of the things that your wise elder said or maybe there's some feeling tone to the way that they were that you want to write down to remember them by.

Or even writing down what their gift was to you.

But remembering that this this will be you one day so it's really a matter of just tracing back from there to you now and if you're worried or afraid or have concerns hopefully you're able to see that they're calm and wise and you know they're in a whole different place and you can draw on that knowing that you will get there even if you're not here today.

Just a matter of tracing the steps back from there to here now.

And you can connect with this wise elder at any time that you want.

You just sit for a few minutes and even shorter than we did today and ask you know what does this person have to say to you how do they see this situation.

Anything that they want to tell you so you can connect with what you will become not what you are necessarily anything they want to tell you.

Any time it's fine to and at any time it's fine to ask your wise elder throughout the day or once a day or once a week just checking in with them like we did today.

So he's a really good practice.

It's like having an inter what inner wise grandmother or grandfather.

It's like having an inner wise grandmother or grandfather that you can check in with but it's you and that's the real beauty of it.

It's your wise you that can always help you and will always be here every day for you.
