So closing your eyes.
And being aware of the body breathing.
And when we start to die,
There is a pulling away of the sense doors.
So just imagining that your hearing's going to start to fade,
Sounds will get farther away.
Your ability to see things will start to fade,
Inner and outer seeing.
And all the sense doors and contact with the world really starts to pull away as we die.
So just letting yourself imagine this process.
It's getting farther and farther away from the world,
The sense doors,
The external world.
Seeing if you can relax with this process as things fade and get farther away.
And then coming to the inner world,
Letting go of your history.
And letting go of your experiences.
Positive,
Negative,
Neutral.
Won't be able to take any of that with us.
So in a kind and gentle way,
Letting each part of your history and experiences just go that won't belong to you anymore.
Practicing,
Letting all that go.
Just like a giant sand mandala,
You just sweep it all away.
Wonderful sand mandala of your life.
But then it gets swept all away.
Who would you be without any history or experiences?
Letting go of the identification with our history,
Our experiences,
Our character.
Just unhooking from all of that.
And unhooking from any identification we have with the body.
All the ways we've tried to control and make the body different or better.
Letting go of any identification with the body.
All gone.
Letting it all go.
Letting go of any identification with emotions.
Any emotions here now just letting them all go.
We can't take emotions with us.
And letting go of thoughts.
We can't take thoughts with us either.
So what would it be like to just let go of any connection or identification with the my thoughts,
My stream of consciousness?
Just imagine opening up that stillness and that space around that identification with thought.
What if all thoughts were gone?
All need to understand anything is gone.
All need to conceptualize is gone.
And even this idea of you as the perceiver,
You as awareness,
Personal awareness.
Let that go too.
What happens when your awareness just joins the awareness?
You don't need to split off with your perception as a separate self.
That's gone too.
Notice what's left when there's none of these things here that we identify with.
What's left?
If everything that you call you is gone right now,
What's left?
And let go of even the knowing itself.
What's left when there's no you knowing?
What's left?
And when the breathing goes and the heart stops,
You know that won't happen right now,
But if it were to happen,
Even no more breath,
No more heart,
No more brain,
What would still be here?
No thoughts,
No experiences,
No knowing,
No perceiver,
No awareness you,
No body,
No breath,
No brain,
What's still here?
And if things come back in again,
No problem,
Just emptying out,
Emptying out again and seeing what's left,
Seeing what's here.
What's here when there's no you here?
What's still left?
So you you you you you you you you you you you you you you And in the last few minutes,
Just being aware that we'll be putting our human suit back on,
Picking up our character again,
But bringing awareness to that process of bringing the you back,
Like bringing a character back online.
And you can still stay that awareness watching and seeing this you come back online.
The awareness itself never changes.
Even when you start to hear the bell and you open your eyes and things are here again,
You have thoughts,
Emotions,
The body,
The history.
Let yourself wear these in a different way now,
With curiosity,
Knowing they're just overlays on awareness itself,
The one awareness,
The one stillness.
We take our character back with grace and humor and love.
Be willing to be you and the emptiness together.
