Hi,
And welcome to Unmasked.
Come home to your true self.
This is your space to drop the performance and to let go of what you thought you had to be and reconnect with the raw,
Radiant self.
Here you'll be guided to gently explore the roles and identities you've carried with our judgement,
So you can begin to soften and return to your essence.
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable position,
So you can be seated or lying down.
Just do what feels most comfortable for you in this moment.
If you like,
You can softly close your eyes and take a deep and slow breath in and let it go.
Let's do that again.
Inhaling deeply through the nose,
Exhale fully out through the mouth.
Let your shoulders drop,
Soften your jaw,
Relax your belly,
Unwrinkle the space between the brows.
There is nothing to prove right now,
Nothing to hold together.
This moment is just for you.
Now begin to notice your breath,
Just notice it as it is,
Flowing in,
Flowing out,
A natural rhythm that asks nothing of you.
Now bring your awareness to the version of you who shows up in the physical world,
The one who tries,
Who performs,
Who smiles when she wants to cry,
Who says yes when she's screaming no inside.
Just picture her for a moment,
Without judgement,
Maybe she looks exhausted,
Maybe she's beautifully put together but brittle,
Maybe she's been carrying everyone else's expectations like heavy luggage.
Whisper gently to her,
I see you,
I know you've been doing your best,
Thank you.
Breathe that in,
And breathe out any shame or resistance,
You don't have to fix anything right now,
Just stay with her,
The one who wore the mask.
Now ask yourself quietly in your mind,
What mask have I been wearing?
Take a moment and just let whatever arises come gently to the surface,
The good girl,
The strong one,
The peacemaker,
The one who never complains,
Feel into how that mask has protected you.
And also,
How may this mask have distanced you from your truth?
Now place your hand over your heart and repeat after me.
I don't need to perform to be loved.
I don't need to perform to be loved.
I don't need to pretend to be accepted.
I don't need to pretend to be accepted.
I am enough as I am.
I am enough as I am.
Take a deep breath into that.
And now,
Imagine the mask slowly dissolving,
No need to rip it off,
Just let it melt,
Like wax warmed by the truth.
Beneath it,
You find something softer,
More tender,
More you,
Your essence,
Your truth,
Your wholeness.
You are safe to return home to yourself.
Feel your breath again.
Feel your body.
Notice any shifts,
Subtle or strong.
There is no rush.
You can come back here anytime.
And when you are ready,
Become aware of your surroundings.
Wiggle your fingers.
Gently open your eyes.
And remember,
You are not the mask.
You never were.
You are you.
And that is more than enough.
And so it is.
