Now go ahead and find a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down,
A place where you can fully unwind and let go of any tension.
Let's begin by creating a soothing atmosphere for your practice.
Dim the lights if you can,
Maybe light a candle and ensure that you won't be disturbed for the next little while.
Take a moment to adjust your body,
Allowing it to settle into a position that feels supportive and comfortable.
And as you make yourself comfortable,
Let's begin by taking a deep breath in through your nose,
Filling your lungs with fresh revitalizing air.
Exhale slowly and fully through your mouth,
Releasing any stress or worries that you might be holding onto.
With each breath,
Imagine you are letting go of any tension,
Creating space for deep relaxation.
And as you keep your awareness on the breath,
Simply follow the breath in and follow the breath out.
Allow the muscles of the face to relax completely,
Let go of tension in the shoulders,
Feel your arms grow heavy,
Soften your abdomen and feel yourself relaxing.
Now imagine yourself in a serene and secluded oasis,
Surrounded by nature's beauty.
Picture a peaceful garden filled with vibrant flowers,
Lush greenery and a gentle stream flowing nearby.
Feel the softness of the grass beneath you and the warmth of the sun on your skin.
As you breathe in,
Envision the clean,
Rejuvenating air infusing every cell of your body with tranquility.
Listen to the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze,
The soothing chirping of birds and the distant sound of flowing water.
Allow these sounds to lull you into a deep state of relaxation,
As if nature is wrapping you in a comforting embrace.
Now shift your awareness to the body,
Starting with your toes,
Consciously release any tension you may be holding.
Imagine each breath melting away tightness,
As if your body is becoming lighter and more at ease.
Allow that feeling to glide up your calves,
Your knees,
Upper legs,
Letting go of tension,
Relaxing the area of the hips and the belly,
Feeling more and more relaxed with each breath.
Feel your body becoming lighter and more at ease,
Relaxing the muscles of the chest,
Softening the muscles in the neck,
Relaxing the arms completely,
Allow the fingers to just curl up naturally.
Perhaps you notice the cool or warm air on your hands,
And as you shift your awareness to the head,
Notice the back of the neck and the back of the scalp completely relaxed.
Your entire body has now released tension,
And as you continue to breathe slowly and deeply,
Inhale calmness and exhale any remaining stress,
Inhaling calm,
Exhaling stress.
With each inhale,
Imagine a wave of relaxation washing over you,
From the top of your head to the tips of your toes.
With each exhale,
Release any lingering worries or discomfort.
Feel your heart rate slowing down,
Your muscles softening,
And your mind becoming still.
Embrace this moment of complete serenity,
And know that you are fully supported by the energy of this tranquil oasis.
Now you can repeat this affirmation silently or aloud.
I am releasing stress and embracing relaxation.
I am worthy of this time to unwind and rejuvenate.
Now I am going to leave you here for a little moment as you continue to relax and soak up these positive feelings.
As we come to the end of this meditation,
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
Gradually reconnecting with the sensations of your physical body,
Becoming aware of the room that you are in,
And when you are ready,
You can open your eyes if they are closed,
And take a moment to acknowledge the sense of calm you have cultivated.
Now carry this sense of peace and tranquility with you as you continue your day,
Knowing that you can return to this inner sanctuary whenever you need.
