There is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise.
I was compelled to open with that line,
As it embodies a sense of fierceness and unstoppable courage.
And that's exactly what this meditation practice is intended to do.
To guide you,
Inspire you,
And encourage you.
To return to your wild and free feminine force.
Recently I completed a challenge of walking 100,
000 steps in one day,
Which equaled 80 kilometers or 50 miles on our feet.
So during this 17 hour journey,
I was in beautiful company,
Particularly a Cree woman named Rhonda Faith Thomas,
Who did not complain once as we gazed into the setting sun,
Enduring these painful blisters,
Sore backs,
And deep conversations.
She told me a lot about the beauty and depth of Cree women.
Her favorite Cree word is iskatu,
Which translates to fire in English.
She went on to say that the tipi represents a woman and the fire is at the center of it.
So if you can imagine for a second that you are a beautiful,
Strong,
Resilient tipi,
And in the center of you is a fire,
An extinguishable fire,
Iskatu.
You are fire.
You are a force.
You are essential to our existence.
Sometimes as women,
We give and give and give and give,
Ignoring our own needs,
And sometimes we people please in order to feel accepted,
And sometimes we pour water on our own fires in order to do what's right and fit in.
Let's close our eyes and together become still and listen to our innermost desires and stoke the fire that we house within us.
With your eyes closed,
Keep a strong back and a soft front.
Your shoulders are relaxed,
Sitting up with intention as if you are on an important yet peaceful mission.
Take a deep breath in,
All the way in,
And exhale,
Letting it all go.
And again,
Another deep breath all the way in,
As if its purpose is to gather any negative or toxic residue within your body.
And as you exhale,
You expel it from your body,
Release it,
It's gone,
Evaporated into the atmosphere,
All the toxicity is released,
Washing out of you with every exhale.
And as we continue,
You can return to your regular breathing cycle.
And if your mind starts to wander,
Bring yourself back to the breath and just notice as the air comes in through your nose and notice as the air is released.
Feel a clean slate within,
Feel the spaciousness within,
Feel open and expansive,
Open and expansive,
Spacious,
Light.
What does it mean to you when I say,
Return to your wild and free self?
Return to your wild and free self.
Can you reflect and perhaps remember a time of who you were before the stories,
The experiences,
The conditions and circumstances in your life that perhaps added layers of protection around your most raw,
Free,
Wild and authentic self.
If you were washed away from these past memories,
Stories,
And beliefs,
Who are you?
At the essence of you,
Who are you?
If you had all the confidence in the world,
If you let nothing hold you back,
If you were free of fear or judgment,
Who would you be?
Remember now,
This is who you truly are,
Unleashed,
Uninhibited,
Unapologetic.
Keep imagining this version of you,
Turn up the color,
Brighten it up,
Make it look and feel exactly how you want.
What would life look like if you took back every ounce of your power and unleashed a wilder and more free version of yourself?
Keep imagining her,
What is she doing,
Who is she with,
How does she act,
How does she speak,
How does she walk,
How does she hold herself,
What is the energy and the essence coming from her heart?
Imagine her now,
Feel so grateful for this beautiful,
Raw,
Wild and free version of you,
Feel grateful for her,
Feel grateful for your life,
For your potential,
For the ability to change and become her now,
Feel gratitude for this option,
Feel gratitude for this opportunity.
This is within you now,
You are worthy,
You are brave,
You are allowed to change,
And if it means a more fulfilling,
More joyful and more happy life,
You must walk towards this version,
You must become her,
You must unleash her,
You are here to shine,
You have a purpose,
Do not be afraid,
Empower one another,
Refrain from judgment as everyone is on their own journey,
And just focus on yours.
Queen Bee Beyonce says,
The most alluring thing a woman can have is confidence.
Amy Poehler says,
If you can dance and be free and be embarrassed,
You can rule the world.
Now with a light smile on your face,
Place one hand on your heart,
And repeat these affirmations out loud or in your mind,
I am free,
I am unleashed,
I am unapologetic,
I am going to dance,
I am radiant,
I am kind,
I am confident,
I am calm,
I am ready,
I am unstoppable.
And now I invite you to feel that fire within,
Igniting and burning brighter and shining bigger than it has,
And remember,
There is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise.
You are ignited,
You are strong,
Honor the iskitu within and give yourself permission to shine.
Now as we begin to slowly open our eyes and come back to the room,
I invite you to write down what came to you and take action towards this version of yourself.
You got this.
Thank you so much for joining me.
Take care and keep that iskitu burning.
