If you've never experienced Yoga Nidra before and you don't know what it is,
You're really in for a treat.
Now very simply,
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practice that brings really deep healing rest.
Now,
Yoga Nidra is often translated as conscious deep sleep.
But it's not sleep and it's not meditation in the traditional sense that we use those words.
And it definitely isn't a yoga class where you're moving or doing postures,
Which is what I mistakenly thought it was when I first discovered it.
So,
During the practice of Yoga Nidra,
You're guided into a state in between waking and sleeping.
Where your body is completely relaxed.
But you remain aware.
Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice and it dates back thousands of years.
And it's rooted in yogic traditions from India.
And there are many references to it in yogic and tantric texts.
But the modern form of Yoga Nidra that most of us practice today.
Was brought to the West by teachers like Swami Satyananda Saraswati.
And These teachers have helped to make Yoga Nidra more accessible and structured for our everyday lives.
So,
During the practice of Yoga Nidra,
You'll be guided through different layers of awareness.
And you'll be invited to move your attention through your body.
Through your breath.
Through sensations and emotions and visualizations.
And.
.
.
This allows your whole system to drop into a deeply restorative state.
Now what I love about Yoga Nidra is that it's for everyone.
It's unbelievably simple and it's completely effortless.
And you simply can't get it wrong.
All you have to do is lie down and be guided.
You don't need any prior experience of meditation and it's not about trying to control your mind and you don't have to be flexible.
And it's also not a religious practice and you don't need to hold any particular belief system to do it.
Now I'll go into the proven benefits of Yoga Nidra in another video.
But what I love about it is that It's so supportive whether you're just exhausted by the pace and the craziness of life or maybe you're feeling overwhelmed by challenging life events.
Or you're having sleep issues or maybe you're interested in exploring the deeper questions that you have about life.
And Yoga Nidra serves all of those purposes.
And even just 10 or 20 minutes of yoga nidra can completely change.
And shift how you feel emotionally and physically and mentally.
And I sincerely hope that you love and benefit from Yoga Nidra as much as I have.
Lots of love.
