Deep, Restful Sleep Practice

This is a deep and restful practice to help prepare for a wonderful night of sleep. It incorporates mindfulness techniques with a visualization and body scan focusing on 61 pressure points in the body.

Transcript

Falling asleep while meditating is one of the best ways to ensure a peaceful,

Restful night of deep sleep.

Lie down in a position that feels most comfortable for you,

Adjusting your body until you feel fully and completely at ease.

When you are ready,

Slowly close your eyes.

Begin to listen to the sounds around you.

Without any strain or judgement,

Just notice the sounds in the space you are in.

Slowly expand outward to noticing the sounds in the building,

Outside of the building,

And further off into the distance.

Whatever you hear is perfectly fine,

Following each sound and then moving to the next and the next and so forth.

There is no need to strain.

Just listen.

Now start to notice sounds outside of the building again.

Inside the building and in the space you are currently in.

Visualize your body lying down.

Trace the outline of your body from head to toe.

Take note of the movements your chest and stomach are making as your body breathes in and out.

Focusing on the air coming in and out of your nostrils.

Noticing the temperature.

Notice you feel air flowing through the back of your throat or down into your lungs.

Your breath is filling every cell in your body with deep peace and relaxation.

You are so calm.

You are so incredibly relaxed.

Now visualize yourself standing at the top of a spiral staircase.

There are ten steps beneath you.

As you descend down each step you become more and more relaxed.

Your body fills up with a deep sense of calm.

Begin to step down at ten,

Nine,

Relaxing deeper and deeper.

Eight,

Seven,

Sinking further and further into a peaceful slumber.

Six,

Five,

Four,

Feeling so calm and so light and so relaxed.

Three,

Fully relaxed.

Two,

Completely calm.

You are entirely relaxed now.

Deeply peaceful and very calm.

As you come down from the steps you enter a place where all of your dreams have come true.

Every wish you could ever want has been fulfilled right here,

Right now.

Envision the glow on your face as you live out every scenario that you have ever wanted.

Achieve even more than you could have ever imagined.

You accomplished and achieved all of your goals.

You are in a loving,

Affectionate,

Giving relationship that supports and nourishes you.

All of your financial burdens have been completely lifted and you have more than you could ever need.

Your work is purposeful and meaningful.

You live in an environment that nourishes and feeds your soul.

Feel the vibration of your dreams unfolding right before your eyes,

Soaring through every cell in your body.

This is your life.

These are your dreams and they are here for you.

Hold on to this vision,

This feeling and just keep listening to my voice and let any strain or tension you may still have drain from your muscles.

We will move through a sensory exercise in which you will bring awareness to different pressure points in your body,

Relaxing you further and further.
