This is Amanda DiCristina.
Welcome to an evening meditation to relax,
Let go and reset.
As you begin to settle into your body,
Gently close your eyes.
Begin to take in long deep breaths in through the nose and out of the nose.
Gently pushing the stomach out on the inhale and contracting the belly towards the spine on the exhale.
Just focusing all of your attention on your breath.
Softening your face.
Relaxing the shoulders down.
Softening the stomach and hips.
Feeling the seat and the ground beneath you.
Send a signal to your brain that it is okay for you to relax in this moment.
Thoughts will still be there,
That's fine,
Just keep coming back to my voice and following my guide.
Or go back to following the breath.
Now I'd like you to see if there's anything that you have been carrying from the day that you can let go of right now.
Sometimes we let go of things and they creep right back up but we have the power to keep letting them go.
Every time we do this,
We put down a little more baggage,
Leaving us feeling lighter and lighter and freer and freer.
Breathe in and use your exhale to let go of whatever it is that you have been carrying for too long.
It may be your self-talk or words somebody else said to you or a situation you don't have control over.
Just using your body and your mind and your breath to set it free.
You can visualize it leaving you on the exhale like a cloud of black smoke.
Breathe in,
Gather it up and let it go.
See the smoke drift up and away from you,
Through the ceiling,
Through the building,
All the way up into the sky,
Far,
Far away until it completely vanishes in the air.
Do this over and over again and each time see the smoke becoming clearer and clearer.
Keep inhaling and exhaling and letting it go.
You are doing this all on your own with just the power of your mind.
Take a few more moments in silence to focus on releasing anything that no longer serves your highest good and deepest well-being.
Keep exhaling the smoke until it becomes completely clear.
Keep exhaling the smoke until it becomes completely clear and translucent.
Feeling lighter and lighter and freer and freer with each breath you take.
And now,
Letting go of the visualization.
I'd like you to think of one word that you would like to embody today.
A word that is a reflection of how you want to feel for the rest of the day.
If you were to embody this word,
What would it look like?
What words would you speak to yourself and others?
How would people describe you?
How would you go about the rest of your day if you were to be this word?
Feel it,
See it,
Become it.
And so it is done.
You can let that go now.
Looking back to your breath and your body.
Visualizing the space you are in.
Feeling the air around you.
Listening to any sounds nearby.
Begin to invite some small movement back into the body.
Starting with your fingers and toes.
Rolling your neck and your shoulders.
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Give yourself some time to sit in the energy you've just cultivated here today.
Thank yourself for showing up to this practice.
Hopefully you will continue with the rest of your day feeling a bit lighter and more at ease.
And remember that you can let go at any time starting with just one breath.
Namaste.
A divine in me honors a divine in you.
