Welcome yourself to this moment now.
Feel your body in space.
Whatever position you have chosen for this meditation,
Let it be comfortable and easy.
Feel free to lie down,
Prop yourself up comfortably with pillows.
Allow yourself to be soft.
Become aware of your breath.
Notice the sensation of your inhale and your exhale.
Notice the sensations in the body,
Specifically of tension,
Tightness.
Notice the thoughts.
Notice the thoughts that are still lingering around the past.
Notice what you're having trouble letting go of,
Memories,
Responsibilities,
Work,
Conversations.
Notice what you are still holding onto inside of you that has nothing to do with this moment now.
Let it go.
Thoughts about anything other than here and now are just imprints.
They're just echoes of the past.
There's nothing to do right now.
There's nowhere to be.
There's no work,
No task,
No goal that is more important than right now.
Remembering you are not a machine.
You are a human being who needs to be still,
To refuel,
Recalibrate.
Give yourself permission to let go of everything that happened before this moment now.
Become aware of your breath.
We'll create an elongation of the exhale in honor of letting go.
Inhaling to the count of four and exhaling to the count of eight.
Inhaling one,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven,
Eight.
Inhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four.
In one,
Two,
Three,
Four.
In your own rhythm and your own count in your mind,
Knowing that with every exhale you are letting go.
That you're holding on to.
You did enough today.
You did your best.
That is all we can ever do,
Is our best.
And if you didn't do your best,
Well then,
Give yourself the gift of grace for not having to be perfect and get it all done all the time.
Let go of expectations of yourself.
Let go of being demanding of yourself.
Let go of being unkind to yourself in your own mind.
With every long exhale we let all that go.
Still breathing inhale four and exhale eight.
Noticing the body starting to let go.
The muscles starting to release.
Tension starting to unravel.
Noticing the softness in the palms of your hands and the arches of your feet.
Notice the release in the creases of the eyes.
Notice the softness of the jaw and the mouth.
Giving ourselves permission to let go of what no longer serves us.
Being kind to ourselves when we have trouble letting go.
Feel yourself here.
Become aware that there is no more important moment than right now.
It is the only moment that exists.
Everything else is just your mind.
Be very aware of this moment now.
Your breath.
Your body.
And when that next exhale finishes let the count go and just be here with yourself.
Whatever needs your attention will come and get your attention.
Wait for that to happen.
And give yourself the gift of softening into your life and letting go.
Thank you.
