This Sacred Verse is a short poem which speaks to the quiet wisdom of surrender and the freedom found in releasing the need to understand. It invites you to soften the body, the mind, and the breath, trusting the natural intelligence that moves all of life. Rather than striving or steering, you are guided into a state of gentle presence where effort dissolves. In this letting go, you may remember that you are already supported, already carried, and never separate from what holds you.

Welcome to your sacred verse.

This poem is called By the River The sound of my breath is like running water,

Flowing constantly although my focus falters.

The constructs of my mind,

Daily life and all the things,

Are solid and pushy,

A voice that always sings.

Time,

Like a box,

Be done by nine.

The cage is my practice.

The bar is strong and fine.

The cage is my mind,

Anchored in time and space.

Navigating this world,

Thoughts they do race.

Quiet down sweet me.

There is no rush.

Time will do what it does.

There's no need to push.

Allow thoughts to be.

Come back to the flow.

Of your breath like a river,

Your light,

It does glow.

The attention you give it expands bit by bit.

So the silence is your focus,

While by the river you sit.

Watch it flow by,

The thoughts and the breath.

Moving like the clouds,

Change is not death.

Allow your experience to be what it is.

Different day by day,

The view changing in a whiz.
