Welcome to this short meditation that will help you release any energy that doesn't belong to you.
If you're someone who feels deeply or picks up on the emotions of others,
You could have already noticed that by the end of your day you're feeling a little bit drained,
Maybe even overwhelmed,
Or just not quite like yourself.
This practice will help you clear that energy and bring you back to a sense of balance and presence.
So let's take a moment to settle in.
Find your comfortable seat.
Maybe you're in a chair with your feet flat on the floor or you're seated on a cushion with a nice tall spine or wherever it feels right for you.
Start by taking a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Allow your shoulders to soften,
Gently lengthening your spine.
Your hands are resting in your lap,
And you can go ahead and soften your gaze or close your eyes.
Now start to just become a little bit more aware of the space around you.
You might even hear some background sounds.
There could be some external distractions.
Simply notice those without attaching to them,
Without creating a story or an expectation around them.
Sometimes as sensitive humans,
We can find ourselves holding on to things without even realizing how they can affect our mood,
Our emotions,
And even our overall well-being.
Just take a moment to slow things down.
Shift your awareness inward.
And recognizing what we are carrying is the first step toward letting it go.
So if you ever feel anxious,
Maybe a little scattered or overwhelmed,
Remember that you can always return to your breath.
And use a short meditation like this one to help clear your energy.
So as you notice your breath,
Just feel it.
It doesn't need to change.
Observe how it moves through your body in this exact moment.
Now take a moment to check in with yourself,
With openness and curiosity.
And start to explore any emotions,
Thoughts,
Judgments,
Or sensations that are present for you right now.
Now simply ask yourself,
Is this mine?
Whatever you're feeling,
Whether it's stress,
Exhaustion,
Frustration,
Or even uncertainty,
You can pause for a moment and just let yourself reflect.
Ask yourself,
Does this actually belong to me?
Take a deep breath in,
And a big exhale out,
As you let yourself just sit with that simple question.
Now repeat the following mantra,
Either silently or out loud.
I am ready to release any thoughts,
Emotions,
Or energies that do not belong to me.
And with this phrase in mind,
Start to visualize a gentle sweeping motion moving through your body.
You could even imagine this as a light,
Starting at the soles of your feet and slowly rising,
Clearing away any stagnant energy from your day.
You can picture any heaviness or any emotions that aren't serving you as dust,
Lifting and dissolving into the air.
Feel this dust being carried away,
Leaving you lighter and more at peace.
Allow this sweeping motion to move up slowly through your legs,
Releasing anything you don't need,
Allowing it to rise through your hips and belly,
Your solar plexus,
And across your chest and shoulders.
Up your throat,
Face,
And all the way to the top of your head,
Allowing every part of you to be cleansed and freed from anything that isn't truly yours.
Now,
As you shift your focus,
Start to imagine a warm golden light shining above your head.
This light is radiant,
It's strong,
And it's peaceful.
See this golden light slowly starting to flow down your body,
As it fills you up from the crown of your head,
All the way down to the tips of your toes.
This is your own energy,
Your own life force.
Restoring and strengthening you.
Feel this light traveling down through your face,
Your throat,
Your shoulders and chest,
Into your solar plexus and your belly,
Your hips,
And all the way down your spine.
As this light fills you with warmth,
Feel it all the way through your legs and down to your feet,
Taking slow,
Gentle breaths as this light surrounds you,
Creating a sense of protection,
Support,
And wholeness.
Staying here for a moment,
As you just simply breathe and allow yourself to soak in this feeling of peace and vitality.
