
Inner Child Reunion

This deeply-connecting meditation takes you back through the portals of time to meet a younger version of yourself, at a time when you felt most free to be yourself and life seemed special and engaging. Spend time with this wonderful part of you and revisit spaces and feelings that were once alive in you. Your inspiring inner child may also bring wisdom and insights to you that can guide you in the present. This practice can revive your inner spirit, re-ignite creativity & bring healing.

In a child reunion.
In this meditation we go back and we go back to a time we remember and recognize as a time when the little person that we were was captivated by life in some way and had feelings of being playful and at ease in their body.
They may have had other troubles as everybody does and times when they didn't feel that but if possible a time where you do remember sometimes a play whether you were on your own or with other people,
Maybe times of exploring nature,
Maybe times when you were just daydreaming or creating something,
Just exploring your little world.
And if you find it hard to go back to such a time or you think it might feel painful or unsafe to you then I recommend that you really consider whether this is the right time in your life to do this meditation because you don't have to do it.
There is an option to try it and at any time you're not feeling it's right for you to stop it or not do it at all right now.
Okay if you're staying for the meditation let's begin.
Begin by creating some real comfort and comfortability for yourself.
Get cozy or stretch out.
Find a nice space to be where you feel safe at ease and relaxed if you can and a nice comfortable way of sitting or lying that makes you feel safe and at ease and your energy feels relaxed and flowing and remembering always it takes a while for us to settle down into our own beings especially if we've been running around so being patient with that process but beginning to feel yourself settling into your body and your time.
You might have your eyes open to take in the space that you're in and anything that's delightful about that space that your gaze is enjoying and be very slow with moving your gaze if you can and as you do so you might connect to your breathing just as it is just as a way of feeling that flow inside you touching all your parts in some way and say hello to that being that lives inside you and if you feel your eyes beginning to close as each breath takes you a little further in that's wonderful and if you'd like to keep a soft gaze that is also wonderful.
Follow your body's journey allow gravity to caress your shoulders,
Escape down your skin and take you into the arms of the earth.
Invite yourself to feel the way your body is releasing into the earth right now releasing into where you are sitting or lying which may be a chair or a bed on top of the earth maybe the ground itself and taking some breaths with that releasing and settling and giving over the weight of your body to the ground and the earth with the eyes of your skin can you sense the air and space around you can you also sense as you take in a breath a cooling in your nostrils a warming as breath flows down your throat into your chest and a rising up of your heart and can you sense with your exhalations a releasing and a settling each breath of life meeting the life inside you this exchange of breath that we as humans have had began long long ago in ancient times and we're still part of that first exchange that first breath of human life that first exchange between nature and people that belonging that arriving you might breathe with that thought and that knowledge for a few moments that the air that you are breathing is ancient and connects you to all life and all time and now inside your own sacred space your private inner world which has of realms and realms and territory to uncover which has pools of nourishment rivers running rivers running through it sacred forests and mountains perhaps this inner territory your inner world that has secret places and hidden spaces and the archive of memories held in trust here and perhaps opening up that memory book now and turning back the pages going back through your life to a time when you were young and you can remember feeling fluid and at ease in your body and like you you may have been four or five you may have been six or seven very sacred age seven maybe nine you'll know when you land there allow yourself to move and travel through time you may begin to feel stirrings in your heart and your chest you may feel goosebumps on your skin tingles in your pelvis your belly even your feet when you have found you be there look at that soul look at that soul you have found that being come into presence with them can you remember the feelings in your body can you embody and inhabit that small body feel your body zooming in merging and now breathe the air how does your breathing feel in your body at that age when you when you looked around you through your eyes your soul seeing how did you find what you were seeing what was it like looking around maybe slowly but let the child choose the child choose the speed let the child choose everything just be inside them and how did you move were you moving or were you still are you moving or still now did you love being indoors or outdoors guided by your heart and your spontaneity and your body when it was playtime where did you run or leap or slowly take your cautious way to where did you love to be be there now in that body doing what you would be doing how did you play how did you participate in the spaces you were in what did your body and your breath do what thoughts and imaginings did you have can you inhabit and feel them all again or some of them were you a child who liked to lie on your back and gaze at the sky or roll in the grass or climb or make fortresses or houses pretend and embody little archetypes did you love to play with others or be alone with your invisible friends or yourself when you felt something magical mysterious what did that feel like in your body what were your quiet thoughts continuing to be with the impulses and feelings and environment inhabiting and also watching yourself a few more moments like this and now take a pause take a couple of breaths still with the child you wherever you are with them feel again into the adult you the you now come into your adult body and let the child be there both of you together facing each other if that feels right looking into each other's eyes silently put in some kind of communion or communication there may be thoughts between the two of you you're both aware of try to center the child and your feelings about this sacred reunion without imposing on the child at all simply receiving them can you do that hearing from them showing them your love centering them with your gaze just silent communion and presence perhaps there is touch perhaps not can you remember and honor this child's wisdom this child's innate deep inner knowing this spiritual child how close they live to creation nature and the mystery from which they have come this child's relationship to the stars and space and timelessness and eternity can you remember and honor this child's completeness being exactly themselves can you feel and sense into and honor their unique essence really knowing it is unique no other soul in any other time will have this or can have this how special it is beyond all knowing be together be together let your feelings come and at some point you may want to take your child's hand and ask them to lead you to somewhere they would like to be with you some hang out where they may want to show you something or play with you or give you a gift or or just sit together and admire the space you're in if that feels like something the child would like to do if they would like you to come with them let them lead you and being led completely by the child enjoy this time together that is being offered to you for a little while and you won't hear my voice again until it's until it's time to go back wherever you are now take some more moments exactly like this and now it's time just for now to leave this sacred hangout together but you can come back at again anytime you want to or anytime you are called to by your child self so it's not goodbye forever but it has been a special time in some way and profound maybe in unexpected ways maybe there's more to find out allow yourself to feel what you feel and this grants dignity and honor to the child and now in some way can you say goodbye for now knowing that you are not really leaving them they live inside of you and they may feel more vivid inside of you now as you go forward you're just leaving this time these moments and coming back slowly and in your own time into presence with your body and your environment in the outer world so do take your time here hardly disturbing these energies keeping them thriving in you keeping child close being assured you are still together and you will take time again to hang out making a connection perhaps now to your breathing and the way you breathe that air that ancient air that vivid alive air in the space you're in now drawing it through your nostrils into your body out again feeling your skin meet the air meet anything touching your skin and the solidity of the ground or what you're sitting or lying on underneath you and you might start now with some subtle movement if you haven't already wriggling your toes stretching into your wrists hands and fingers moving your body in any way that allows it to awaken and feel good let it guide you there may be rocking or swaying there may be drawing your knees up into your chest eventually and giving yourself and all your parts a big hug only when your eyes are ready to lift their lids let that happen organically and when they do keeping your gaze soft as again you look slowly around your environment giving time for shapes and colors and textures to assimilate again before your view and maybe with a stretch and a breath coming into some pose in which you can honor this time this sacred session maybe taking your hands in front of your heart or out open to the magic of life maybe resting your hands on your body remembering you are also resting them into the energy the being of your inner child so there may be cradling stroking or holding and saying goodbye or honoring this time in your own way now perhaps there are words of affirmation or a mantra that has come to you that you would like to say out loud or sing or a way of moving from what you have been moved by and when you are ready and only when you're ready taking one intentional step forward into life and presence holding this time with reverence inside of yourself

So incredibly stirring. I just can't believe the beautiful memories that have surfaced and how in the moment I was...innocent, yet possessing such wisdom. How far I have strayed; how much I hope to reclaim one day soon.
