Welcome to day 6 of the morning meditation challenge.
So today we are going to do an inner smile meditation.
It's a really lovely meditation that comes from an ancient Taoist practice and it's particularly beneficial if you are in need of some physical healing.
So this style of meditation is nice to do lying down on your back.
So find a comfortable position.
Just adjust your spine so that it's straight.
Extend your legs out completely.
And let your arms run alongside your body with your palms facing up towards the sky.
As you let there be a little more space between your fingers.
And let your fingers softly curl inwards completely relaxed.
Flop your feet out to the sides.
Soften your knees,
Thighs,
Hips,
Stomach and back.
Let your shoulders sink deeper down.
Relax all the muscles in your face.
And if it feels good for you,
Close your eyes.
As you take a slow deep breath in.
And exhale completely.
Let everything go.
And start to notice all the areas of your body that are touching a surface right now.
Feel the stability of the ground beneath you.
And know that you are completely supported and held.
You are safe.
As I invite you to think back to a moment in your life that brought you so much joy and happiness.
A really special time that you look back on with the fondest of memories.
Maybe it was even one of the most happiest moments of your life.
And as this moment starts to form in your mind,
See if you can transport yourself back to that place.
Rewind back in time and step into the scene.
What can you see?
What can you hear?
And how do you feel?
As you begin to amplify all the sights and sounds and feelings of this moment,
Let everything become brighter and more vivid and real.
And then notice that sensation of love and gratitude begin to bubble up in your heart.
And as these sensations become stronger and stronger,
Let the gentle shape of a smile begin to form on your face.
A soft,
Sweet,
Genuine smile that brings with it a golden smiling energy that begins to radiate outwards,
Up over your cheeks,
Nose,
As you feel your eyes bathed in this warm smiling energy.
Moving up to the forehead and the inside of your skull as you send this smiling energy to your brain.
And this light starts to flow down your whole spine,
Illuminating it like a golden pillar of light.
As it flows to the centre of your heart,
You start to listen to the rhythm of your heartbeat and smile at your heart too,
Sending this golden energy there.
As you radiate out your smile to your lungs,
And you take a deep breath in and a full breath out,
Offering some appreciation for all that they do.
As you move down and start to send your smile to your liver,
Your smiling energy drips down like warm honey,
Soothing your kidneys,
Your pancreas,
Your intestines,
Your spleen and your reproductive systems.
You smile at the largest organ in your body,
Your skin.
And allow your golden smiling energy to light up your whole nervous system.
Let it flow through your bones and your blood,
Through muscles and tendons.
Let your smile illuminate every single cell like electricity.
As you beam your smiling energy up through the crown of your head,
Creating a waterfall of light that showers all around you,
Flowing all the way down to the tips of your toes.
Cocooning you in this golden light.
Breathe the energy of your smile in.
Breathe the energy of your smile out.
Just take a moment here to marinate in the sensations that you've created as you allow cleansing breath in.
And exhale completely,
Let your meditation go.
Start to bring yourself back to the space that you are in,
Knowing that you can carry this energy with you throughout your day.
And whenever you feel ready,
Blink open your eyes.
