Good evening,
Alex Moller here.
Thank you so much for letting me read you a sleep story,
And in this case we'll be going to space and enjoying every moment of it.
Let's begin.
You step onto the cool metallic ramp leading up to the spaceship,
Your boots making a soft thud with each step.
The air is crisp and still,
As if the world is holding its breath for what's about to come.
In the distance you can hear the quiet murmurs of people gathered,
Your friends and family,
And those who came to see you off.
You take one last look over your shoulder,
Catching their encouraging smiles.
You wave at them,
Feeling both excitement and a gentle pull of emotion,
Knowing you're about to embark on a journey that very few ever get to experience.
The spaceship gleams under the sunlight,
Smooth and sleek,
A marvel of engineering.
As you reach the entrance the door opens with a soft hiss,
And the interior beckons.
You step inside,
The floor beneath you firm,
With a slight softness,
Like stepping onto a soft rubber mat.
The air inside smells faintly of metal,
Something sterile but not unpleasant.
You feel safe here.
The cockpit is small but filled with all the essential equipment,
Screens flickering softly with data,
Buttons neatly aligned,
And the seat,
Your seat,
Positioned at the front.
You sit down,
The chair enveloping you in a snug,
Supportive embrace.
As you settle in,
The seat moulds to your body,
And you take a deep breath,
Slowly exhale,
And the excitement starts building in your chest.
A voice comes through your helmet,
Clear and reassuring.
All systems are go,
We're ready for launch in T minus two minutes.
You feel a soft,
Subtle vibration beneath your feet,
A hum of energy as the ship comes to life.
Outside the window you catch a glimpse of the sky,
Endless blue stretching into space.
You grip the armrest slightly,
Anticipation fluttering in your stomach,
But there's also a calm washing over you.
This is it.
The countdown begins.
T minus nine,
Eight,
With each number you notice the sound of your own breath,
Slow and steady.
The rise and fall of your chest grounding you in the moment.
Seven,
Six,
Five,
The hum beneath you grows slightly louder.
A low,
Comforting rumble that you can feel in your bones.
Four,
Three,
Two,
One,
And then it happens.
A soft push at first,
A gentle pressure building against your back as the ship lifts from the ground.
The sensation is surreal,
Like being cradled by invisible hands as you're carried upwards.
You feel your body sink deeper into the seat.
But the comfort of the chair holds you firmly.
You glance out of the window as the landscape begins to shift.
The buildings below you grow smaller.
The launch pad now just a tiny dot as you rise higher into the sky.
The blue of the atmosphere fades into a darker,
Deeper shade.
And soon the curvature of the earth comes into view.
It's breathtaking.
You watch as the world beneath you transforms.
The clouds swirling softly.
The oceans glistening under the sunlight.
And the continents like patches of greens and browns.
As you continue to ascend,
The pull of gravity eases,
And the pressure that once held you in place now begins to relax.
The ship steadies,
And you float ever so lightly in your seat,
Weightless.
The earth below becomes smaller and smaller.
A vibrant blue marble suspended in the blackness of space.
You can't take your eyes off it.
The vastness of space stretches around you.
But there's something profoundly comforting in knowing that down there,
On that shrinking ball of blue,
Is everything you have ever known.
Yet here in this moment,
You feel completely at ease.
Weightless.
Calm.
And filled with a sense of awe.
You take another deep breath,
Feeling the stillness around you.
The gentle hum of the ship is the only sound now.
And outside your window the stars begin to reveal themselves.
Tiny pinpricks of light in the endless black canvas.
You watch the earth shrink just a little more until it rests far below.
A distant,
Beautiful reminder of home as you drift peacefully into the vast unknown.
The stillness around you is profound,
Almost surreal.
In the quiet of the spaceship,
You're aware of your own slow breathing.
The gentle rhythm of it grounding you as you float,
Weightless in your seat.
You let your gaze drift towards the window,
And what you see takes your breath away.
Space stretches out endlessly in every direction.
An infinite expanse of darkness.
Yet it is not empty.
Far from it.
Tiny sparkling lights dot the black canvas.
Each one a star,
A distant sun glowing softly against a velvety backdrop.
Some shine brightly,
Casting a silvery light,
While others flicker faintly,
Twinkling like they are sharing a secret with the universe.
It's a sight so vast and mysterious that it feels almost otherworldly yet strangely familiar,
Like you've always been meant to witness this moment.
As you gaze out,
The window's cool surface lightly presses against your fingertips.
You feel a deep sense of peace watch over you.
There's no sound.
No rush.
Just the serene quiet of space,
Cradling you in its gentle stillness.
You feel suspended in time,
As if this moment could stretch on forever.
Your eyes trace the distant stars.
Their light is so soft and warm,
Each one with its own story.
You wonder how far away they are,
How many lifetimes their light has travelled to reach you here,
Right now.
The vastness of it all doesn't feel overwhelming,
But instead,
It feels comforting,
Like the universe is wrapping you in its quiet embrace,
Reminding you that you are part of something much larger,
Something infinite.
Then,
Out of the corner of your eye,
You notice movement.
A flash,
Subtle at first,
But unmistakable.
You watch carefully as an asteroid drifts slowly past your window,
Gliding silently through space.
Its surface is rough and rugged,
But as it spins lazily,
You can catch glimpses of light reflecting off its surface.
Tiny specks of dust and rock glittering in the starlight.
The asteroid seems almost close enough to touch,
Yet distant,
Moving with a slow,
Graceful purpose.
It's like watching a piece of the universe in motion,
A reminder that,
Even in the stillness,
There is movement,
Life,
And wonder.
As the asteroid passes,
Your gaze returns to the stars.
You lose yourself in their beauty,
Noticing how some stars burn a soft,
Golden hue while others glow in shades of cool blue and deep red.
Colours are subtle but distinct,
Adding a depth to the sky that you never notice from Earth.
Here in the silence of space,
Each star feels more alive,
More vibrant,
Like they've been waiting just for you to arrive,
And see them in all their brilliance.
You close your eyes for a moment,
And in the darkness behind your eyelids,
You can still see the stars,
Their light imprinted in your mind.
The sensation of floating in the middle of this vast expanse is calming,
Like being gently rocked by invisible waves.
There's no up,
There's no down,
Just the infinite stretch of space all around you,
And the feeling of being completely weightless,
Free from any pull or gravity.
Opening your eyes again,
You take it all in once more.
The distant stars,
The fading asteroid now far beyond your view,
And the serene quiet that fills every moment.
The blackness of space is comforting,
Like a soft blanket that surrounds you,
And the stars are your only companions,
Twinkling with a gentle,
Knowing light.
You feel a deep sense of connection,
Not only to the stars but to everything around you.
It's as if the universe is whispering in your ear,
Reminding you that you belong here,
And this vastness,
This beauty is part of you.
You take a slow,
Steady breath,
Letting the calmness settle into every part of your body,
And you realize that out here in the middle of space,
You are truly at peace.
The idea comes to you almost as a whisper,
A quiet curiosity,
A yearning to experience what it's truly like to be out there,
Beyond the confines of the ship.
You glance at the spacesuit You glance at the spacesuit hanging nearby,
Pristine and ready,
Almost beckoning you.
Without hesitation,
You decide to go for it.
As you stand,
The ship's artificial gravity tugs at you ever so slightly,
But you move with ease.
You approach the suit.
Its surface is cool and smooth under your fingers as you lift it off its rack.
There's strange excitement bubbling up inside of you,
A mix of wonder and anticipation.
Piece by piece,
You slip into the suit,
Feeling its gentle weight as it wraps around you,
Snug,
But not constricting.
The helmet is the last thing to go on,
And when you seal it into place,
You hear the soft click,
Followed by the steady hum of air flowing into your suit.
A tether is securely fastened to the ship,
And you attach the other end to your suit with a firm click.
A thin yet incredibly strong line connecting you to your floating home.
You take one last glance at the ship's interior,
Knowing it's just a few steps away,
Before moving toward the airlock.
The door slides open with a soft hiss,
And you step into the small chamber.
Your heart is beating steadily.
The outer door opens,
Revealing the vastness of space beyond,
And without a second thought,
You push off,
Leaving the safety of the ship behind.
As you exit the spacecraft,
The silence is immediate and complete.
No sound.
No vibration.
Just pure,
Tranquil emptiness.
It's like stepping into another world,
But in this world,
There is no ground.
No sky.
Just you,
And the infinite stretch of space.
You feel weightless,
Your body floating effortlessly,
As if the universe itself is cradling you.
The tether tugs gently,
A reminder of your connection to the ship,
But other than that,
It's just you.
Suspended in the void,
Surrounded by stars that seem to twinkle a little brighter now that you're outside.
The sensation is unlike anything you have ever felt before.
There's no sense of gravity pulling you in any direction.
No up,
Or down.
Just the soft,
Floating stillness of space.
It feels like you could drift forever,
Moving through this endless sea of stars,
Completely untethered from time and space.
Yet even as you float,
You feel grounded in a strange way.
You feel grounded in a strange way.
A deep sense of peace and belonging in this vastness.
You stretch your arms out slowly,
Marveling at how they move so fluidly in the weightlessness.
The suit feels light now,
Almost like a second skin.
And as you twist slightly,
You begin to spin over so gently,
The stars around you shifting and turning as you rotate.
As you rotate,
It's a slow,
Graceful motion,
Like a dance,
And you feel utterly free.
The tether stretches behind you,
A thin lifeline connecting you to the ship,
But it doesn't feel like a constraint instead.
It's a gentle reminder that you are still anchored,
Still safe.
You give it a small,
Reassuring tug,
Feeling the slightest resistance as it holds firm.
There's comfort in that,
Knowing that you can float and explore yet,
You're never too far from home.
As you turn,
You gaze out into the universe,
The stars once again catching your eye.
They're even more dazzling now that you're outside the ship,
Sharp and clear,
With colors that seem to shift and shimmer as you float among them.
Each one feels close enough to touch yet impossibly far,
Their light traveling across unimaginable distances to reach you.
In this moment,
It's just you and the stars.
The quiet is deep and profound,
But it's not lonely.
It feels like the universe is keeping you company.
The stars,
Your silent companions,
Each one glowing with a quiet warmth.
You drift for a while,
Letting the stillness soak in.
There's no rush here,
No need to hurry,
Just the gentle pull of the tether and the soothing vastness of space surrounding you.
You take a deep breath in,
And you exhale.
You feel the cool,
Filtered air fill your lungs and leave your lungs.
And with each breath,
A sense of calm washes over you.
Washes over you.
You move your arms again,
Adjusting your position slightly,
And for a brief moment,
You glance back at the ship.
It's still there,
Solid and familiar,
Floating quietly in the darkness,
Its lights glowing softly.
The tether stretches between you,
A thin line against the backdrop of the stars,
But the ship feels distant now,
Almost like a dream.
You turn your gaze back to the stars,
Letting your body relax into the sensation of floating.
The tether holds you securely,
But it's easy to forget it's there,
As the weightlessness takes over.
You are one with the universe,
Floating gently,
The stars stretching out in every direction.
Time seems to slow,
Each moment stretching on into the next,
Until all that exists is you,
And the infinite beauty around you.
As you float peacefully in the vastness of space,
Your gaze shifts,
Scanning the stars with a calm curiosity,
But then,
Something catches your eye.
Just on the edge of your vision,
Something moves.
It's not just another asteroid,
Nor a piece of space debris,
No.
This is different.
You narrow your focus,
And there,
In the distance,
You see it.
A shape,
Gliding gracefully through the void.
It's unlike anything you've ever seen before.
Hovering weightlessly in the stillness of space,
As it moves closer,
Its form becomes clearer,
And your breath catches slightly in awe.
It's small,
No bigger than a whale,
But its shape is smooth and streamlined,
Almost like a creature sculpted out of the cosmos itself.
Its skin is a soft,
Pearlescent grey,
Glowing faintly under the starlight,
And its large,
Intelligent eyes meet yours with a calm,
Knowing expression.
There's no fear,
Only wonder as you watch this being glide effortlessly toward you.
Its shape resembles a gentle whale.
Its body,
Sleek and elegant,
With smooth,
Flowing movements that make it look like it's swimming through space.
Its eyes,
Now that you can see them closer,
Are large and kind,
And they seem to study you,
Observing you with quiet curiosity.
You remain still,
Suspended in the void,
As the creature draws nearer.
There's a moment where you both pause,
Keeping a respectful distance,
And you realize that this being is just as curious about you as you are about it.
It's a moment of mutual understanding,
A silent communication between you and this alien life floating together in the endless expanse of the universe.
Then,
Slowly and gently,
The creature begins to move closer.
There's no rush,
No sense of urgency,
Just a quiet,
Respectful approach.
As it nears,
You notice its skin a little more clearly.
It's smooth and glistening,
Almost like a polished stone,
But there's a warmth radiating from it,
A gentle energy that you can feel even before you touch it.
The creature pauses just in front of you,
Its eyes meeting yours once more,
As if asking for permission.
You nod ever so slightly,
And with that,
The alien leans in,
The alien leans in,
Gently bumping against you.
The sensation is incredible.
Its body is warm,
Much warmer than you expected,
And the surface is so smooth,
Almost silky to the touch.
But then,
Something remarkable happens.
As you make contact,
A rush of energy surges through you.
An overwhelming wave of positivity,
Gratitude and love envelopes you.
It's as if this being is sharing something deep and profound with you,
A gift of pure,
Unfiltered goodness.
This feeling courses through your body,
Filling every corner of your being with warmth and light.
Your mind floods with images of joy,
Moments of happiness both big and small.
They're all flickering through your thoughts like scenes from a beautiful film.
You feel a deep sense of gratitude for everything you have ever experienced,
For every person you have ever loved,
Loved,
For every moment that has brought you to this point.
It's an overwhelming sense of connection,
Not just to this creature,
But to the universe itself.
As you feel the rush of warmth spread through your body,
You feel it settling into your chest,
A deep,
Comforting glow that fills you with an unshakable sense of peace.
There's no fear,
No worry,
Just pure love.
Love for the world,
Love for yourself,
Love for everything around you.
It's a feeling of being completely safe,
Completely secure,
As though the universe is holding you in a gentle,
Loving embrace.
Creatures' eyes twinkle slightly as if they know exactly what you are feeling.
And then,
Just as gently as it came,
It pulls away,
Floating back a short distance.
You watch as it lingers for a moment,
Still observing,
Still connected in some way.
Then slowly,
It begins to drift away,
Its smooth body gliding gracefully through the stars.
Before it disappears into the distance,
The creature turns one last time,
And you notice something new,
A smile.
It is subtle,
It is subtle,
But unmistakable.
A warm,
Knowing smile that sends one final rush of love through your body.
And with that,
It fades into the darkness,
Leaving you alone once more in the quiet of space.
But the feeling remains,
That rush of positivity and gratitude lingers in every part of your being,
Filling you with a deep sense of contentment.
You feel lighter,
As if the weight of the universe has been lifted from your shoulders.
Every breath you take is filled with peace,
And a smile spreads across your face as you think about what you have just experienced.
The stars around you seem to shimmer a little brighter now,
And the vastness of space no longer feels empty.
Instead,
It feels alive,
Filled with warmth and love.
You close your eyes for a moment,
Letting the sensation of gratitude and joy wash over you,
Knowing that this moment,
This special feeling,
Will stay with you long after the creature is gone.
As the alien drifts away into the distance,
You linger in the silence of space,
Feeling an overwhelming sense of awe.
The stars shimmer around you,
And the warm rush of energy from your encounter still fills every part of your being.
You take a deep,
Slow breath,
Letting the feeling settle,
And for a moment,
You are content to simply float,
Weightless and at peace.
But soon,
It's time to return to the ship,
To return to the ship.
With a gentle tug on the tether,
You begin to pull yourself back.
The ship is a comforting silhouette against the vastness,
Its soft lights glowing like a beacon guiding you home.
As you float closer,
The familiar contours of the vessel grow more defined,
And you feel a sense of anticipation,
A quiet satisfaction,
Knowing that you are bringing back something special from this incredible journey.
Your hands move smoothly as you guide yourself along the tether,
Each pull bringing you closer to the airlock.
The ship feels like a refuge now,
A place where you can reflect and rest after such a unique experience.
As you reach the airlock,
The door opens with a soft hiss,
And you step inside,
A tether automatically retracting as the door closes behind you.
The pressurized hum of the ship surrounds you again,
A comforting,
Familiar sound.
You remove your helmet,
The cool air of the ship brushing against your face,
And a small smile spreads across your lips.
There's a deep sense of calm in your chest,
The positivity from your encounter still pulsing gently within you.
Like a quiet echo,
Echo.
After storing your suit,
You wander over to the small galley area,
Feeling the first pangs of hunger.
Something simple will do,
After all,
You're an astronaut for now.
You grab a small packet of dehydrated food,
A space-ready meal designed to nourish you after a long day.
The packaging is smooth and light in your hand as you prepare it,
Following the easy instructions.
It's not the most gourmet meal,
But as you take the first bite,
There's something satisfying about it.
It tastes of adventure,
Of exploration.
Each bite reminds you of where you have been today,
And you savor it slowly.
With your hunger satisfied,
You feel a wave of fatigue begin to settle in,
A deep,
Pleasant tiredness that fills your muscles and bones.
You yawn gently and realize that you are more tired than you thought.
It's the kind of tiredness that comes after a day well spent,
After a journey that has left you not only physically drained,
But emotionally fulfilled.
You head to the small sleeping quarters,
A quiet corner of the ship designed for rest.
The space is simple,
But cozy,
And you change into your soft,
Comfortable pajamas.
You can feel your body beginning to relax even more.
The fabric is light against your skin,
Warm and comforting like a gentle hug that invites you to unwind.
You slide into bed,
A mattress cradling your body in the most soothing way possible.
It is firm,
But with just enough to give to mold to your shape,
Supporting you in all the right places.
The blankets are soft and warm,
Wrapping around you like a cocoon.
And as your head sinks into the pillow,
You feel the last bit of tension melt away from your shoulders.
The ship's autopilot hums softly in the background,
A steady,
Rhythmic sound that lulls you further into relaxation.
You know that while you sleep,
The ship will be guiding itself back to Earth,
A journey home unfolding in the quiet of the night.
And when you wake up,
You'll be just an hour away from landing.
And soon,
You'll be back on familiar ground.
For now,
There's nothing to do but rest.
Your eyes grow heavy as you lie there,
Cocooned in warmth and softness.
The events of the day play gently through your mind.
Each memory bathed in a soft glow of positivity and gratitude.
The encounter with the alien,
The beauty of the stars,
The peaceful floating through space.
It all feels like a dream,
Yet it's part of you now.
And as you lie there,
You realize just how special this day has been.
As you relax your muscles,
Your jaw,
Your shoulders,
Your arms,
And your legs,
A deep,
Peaceful tiredness washes over you.
And you can feel every part of your body sinking into the comfort of your bed.
Your breathing slows,
Deep and steady.
And with each breath,
You feel yourself drifting closer to sleep.
The ship is your sanctuary.
The bed is your haven.
You are warm,
Safe,
And completely at ease.
The vastness of space is behind you now,
But the sense of awe,
Of wonder,
Stays with you.
Settling deep within your heart,
Within your heart.
You close your eyes,
Knowing that when you wake,
The world will be waiting for you.
But for now,
You allow yourself to drift into the peaceful embrace of sleep,
Cradled by the softness of the bed and the gentle hum of the ship.
You feel lighter than ever,
Filled with positivity,
Security,
And love.
Knowing that this journey has left you changed in the best possible way.
And as you fall into a deep,
Restful sleep,
You carry with you the knowledge that the universe holds wonders beyond imagination.
Wonders that are yours to discover again,
Someday.
