Hi,
So it is day 15.
I'm so excited to be at this halfway point.
I'm grateful for this.
We've made it through 15 days.
There's 15 more to go.
You won't be hearing a journal prompt from me today.
You'll be hearing it from a good friend of mine.
Her name is Melissa Mueller-Douglas.
She is the founder and CEO of My Retreat,
And she has this wonderful,
Wonderful concept of chocolate mindfulness.
She does workshops.
She's a mindfulness expert,
A licensed master social worker.
She's just an all-around joy.
I love,
Love,
Love just listening to her talk and doing chocolate mindful workshops with her.
They're so awesome.
Do one if you can.
But today you're going to hear from my friend Melissa,
And I hope you enjoy listening to her journal prompt and her take on gratitude.
On this page,
You can also find two links to learn more about her business,
But then also to support her mission of impacting 1 million professionals with chocolate mindfulness.
So without further ado,
Here is Melissa.
Hi,
I'm Melissa Mueller-Douglas,
A licensed master social worker,
A mom,
A daughter,
A wife,
Friend,
And neighbor.
With all of your roles and responsibilities,
You know that sometimes life feels hard and it can feel like you're just getting by.
Today,
We're going to talk about gratitude practices and what the purpose is for implementing them into your life.
As the CEO of my retreat,
I help companies and the people in those companies with team building to decrease stress and increase mindfulness in the workplace using chocolate instead of trust falls.
During our chocolate mindfulness sessions,
We always practice gratitude journaling.
And today we're going to practice gratitude journaling with one simple word prompt.
Before we do that,
It's important to understand that our thoughts come and go,
But the thoughts can lead to our feelings and then to our actions and behaviors.
So it's important to be intentional about our thoughts when we can.
And we do this through gratitude journaling.
So if you're thinking about what you're grateful for today in this very moment,
Those thoughts add up and can lead to positive feelings and spread out beyond you to those that are close to you,
Those that are acquaintances,
Because you are focused on what you're grateful for.
And if you share that gratitude with someone around you,
You're either role modeling for them to do the same,
Or you're telling someone who you admire,
Who you appreciate that you care and you see them.
And there's this incredible ripple effect that can happen from that.
So take a moment and write down the word inspire vertically on a piece of paper.
I N S P I R E.
For each letter,
Identify a person,
Place,
Or thing that you're currently grateful for.
For the letter I,
I'm grateful for inspirational places that I go.
So for instance,
Just the other day I was at this babbling brook,
Which I am incredibly grateful for,
And it felt like an inspiring place.
So continue on with each of the letters in inspire to identify what you are currently grateful for.
And then take a moment to share with your loved ones or the colleague,
Share something that you're grateful for today and see what the ripple effect might be from bringing positivity from your mind onto that piece of paper and beyond.
Thank you for joining me for this gratitude journaling session and take good,
Good care.
