Hello,

It is day five.

My voice is still not back.

It's fine.

We're going to keep going.

Okay,

Moving forward.

So today's journal prompt is one of my favorites because I love letters,

Right?

My grandmother and I,

We used to write letters back and forth to each other.

I haven't done it in a while,

But I think this is a great time to bring this tradition back,

Right?

So writing letters,

You're going to write a letter today and I want you to write a letter still in this topic of someone that you're grateful for.

You can choose the same person from the first two prompts,

Or you can choose a new person,

Right?

If you want,

You can choose yourself,

But I want you to write a letter to someone that you're grateful for today.

Letters are so heartfelt.

They aren't written,

I guess,

Anymore.

We have texts,

We have emails,

But a handwritten letter is so,

So,

So,

So special,

Especially around I think this time of year,

Right?

November,

Gratitude,

You know,

Really showing appreciation for the people in our lives.

So I want to share a quote.

I'm a huge quote person.

There's quotes like literally everywhere.

There's like,

I am enough,

You are enough.

May the flowers remind us why the rain is so necessary.

They're like everywhere.

I love quotes.

But here's one that I'm going to share.

I'm going to read it because I don't want to mess it up.

So with mindfulness,

We learn we have a choice to either indulge in illusion or dismiss it and embrace reality.

And so when you're writing this letter of gratitude to whomever you decided to write it to,

I want you to embrace reality.

I want you to really sit with yourself and notice how it feels.

How does it feel to write a letter of gratitude to someone,

Right?

Notice everything about your body.

If you want to do a body scan,

You know,

Think about if you're calming down because you're writing a letter,

If you're getting excited because you get to say all the things that you,

You know,

You want to say or you thought to say,

But never got a chance to say it.

So take those things down in this letter,

Fully embrace this moment as you write the letter.

Don't take forever to write it.

Take maybe about 15,

20 minutes to write this letter.

I wouldn't go longer than 30,

But really sit and think about why you're grateful for this person.

Lean into who they are at their core and what makes them who they are.

Because when you're writing this letter,

I don't want it to be just for you,

Just for you to feel good.

I want that person on the other end of receiving this letter to feel what you feel when you're writing it.

I want them to feel appreciated.

You should want them to feel appreciated,

Right?

So have fun,

Write this letter of gratitude to someone in your life,

And then it's up to you if you want to actually give it to them.

I say give it to them.

It couldn't hurt.

It only bring a smile to someone's face.

Be real.

Embrace the reality as you write this letter and write a letter of gratitude to someone special in your life.
