Hello,
My name is Teddy Bass and welcome to Insight Timer.
Today I felt it was a time that we might need to have a little self-reflection and in that self-reflection for me is forgiveness and so this meditation is on forgiveness.
Usually in a place of hurt,
Pain,
We feel like it's the other person who is bestowing that hurt or pain upon us but I've become so clear recently that it's self-forgiveness that is the first and foremost thing that will help us release any pain or upset that we may have toward anyone because we have to recognize that each and every person is a child of God no matter what.
So it is in this meditation that we are just going to become very still.
Whether you're sitting up back upright not too rigid,
Lying on your back,
Palms facing the ceiling,
Whatever position for you where you can have your mind at ease,
Feeling your breath inhale through the nose,
Exhaling through the mouth.
Inhaling through the nose,
Exhaling through the mouth.
We allow our breath to become present to this now moment and when we're present in this moment there is no past,
There is no future,
There's only now.
So my invitation for you in this moment is to bring someone or that something that you seemingly thought was done to you and I can tell you this is very easy for me because I've had several things that I felt victim to that happened to me in the last couple years and I'm sure each of you have had the same experience whether it be the pandemic,
Whether it be a loss of a job,
A partner,
The loss of someone dear to you and your family,
Whatever or whomever or however it may have come toward you or through you or at you,
We're going to take this meditation to just become present to this moment and in this moment all of our needs are met.
In this moment we have the living breath of God breathing through us and so everything in this moment is all right for in God all good comes through every situation and as we return to the breath now as I stated in the beginning of this meditation,
Self-forgiveness we're going to allow it to wash over us starting from the head head is where our mind is so let's use that to bring up any of those situations,
Encounters or maybe even something that we did that we need to forgive ourselves to and potentially make amends to someone else.
We let it quiet in our mind and wash over us we allow it to drop into our shoulders allowing them to pull away from our ears allowing our shoulder blades to relax hands your abdominal area and as we return to the breath now I find that this is the place where I hold pain in my waist,
In my abdominals and in my hips so search that area and see if you find any tension unwanted,
Undesired pain from the past we just let it go self-forgiveness right here right now through every single bone and muscle in our body temple through the thighs continuing to inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth through the calves wiggle those toes and now feel them rooted into the earth feel the empowerment of your body right here and right now starting afresh and new feel the energy possibly some tingling in your feet and in your hands and now we've allowed ourselves open and available to find that person that thing that encounter that moment that we are ready to forgive ourselves and to forgive them we don't need to have them in front of us all we need is to have that experience so that we can do it within our own consciousness and so we are going to begin that going opposite of what we just did for ourselves we're going to go up through our body temple inhaling through the nose exhaling through the mouth through the toes in the calves slowly allowing your breath to extend that forgiveness throughout your thighs and again into that place where we may sit all day long into that place where we may hold resentment in that place where we may feel righteous in that place where we may have sensed victimism right here in the core of our being we can let it go just like that forgiveness is at the core of our being and it's a choice that we step into right here and right now inhale and exhale and again we move into the chest feeling it light shoulders drop and relax fingertips and we now end where this meditation began in the mind in the head open available receptive and renewed right here because we chose to gather in this meditation to know that we are enough to forgive others and to forgive ourselves and to begin again to begin again to begin again to see with fresh new eyes to be free to be truly free of anything we came into this time and this meditation with i'm grateful i accept your freedom for you and i welcome you to listen to this meditation as often as you feel you need to continue in the let go in the self and the forgiveness of others peace and blessings namaste
