It's very easy,
Very simple to just begin following the flow of your breathing and in a sense to use that flow,
That rhythm to take you deeper into yourself,
Deeper into quietness.
So following your breath and its flow is a lot easier than trying to stop your mind.
In fact I'd say you will simply be working against yourself if you try to stop your mind because the effort to stop your mind is mind activity.
So let's not be concerned with stopping our mind or stopping the monkey mind or any of those traditional ideas but instead just become utterly simple as you follow the flow of your breathing inward.
And to do this is to just feel,
Not only feel your breathing but feel its softness,
Feel its quietness and to feel also how your sense of presence,
Your presence itself is a lot like this very simple and quiet rhythm.
And as you're doing this take a moment to recall to know again that where you are,
Where you exist is always here and now.
And so there's obviously there's going to be an allure in your mind to reconsider the past or consider the future but give yourself an assignment here.
Give yourself an effortless task to stay in the looking,
To stay in the listening,
To stay in the sensing of the very present.
And with that assignment recognize that it is a simple assignment not a hard one.
It's not hard to be present.
There couldn't be anything easier than being where you already are.
So if it seems hard in any way notice that you're making an unnecessary effort and simply relax,
Simply drop it.
Whether it's your breathing or the birds or rain or the sensations in your body,
Simply enjoy.
Enjoy being here.
Enjoy being silent.
Enjoy being still.
Enjoy being empty.
When you're empty let this moment echo.
Let these sounds,
Feelings,
Sensations let them echo in the open,
Empty,
Spaciousness of your being.
Enjoy.
And whatever you might encounter in this 20 minute,
25 minute period,
Simply open to it.
Pain,
Boredom,
Restlessness,
Fear,
Joy,
Pleasure.
But so ever arises simply open to it.
Welcome.
Being vast,
Open and empty,
There's room for anything,
Anything at all to echo.
Feeling self pl thermal.
.
When you open to what's present,
You can be interested,
Curious,
Play.
You can look deeply.
You can look deeply.
You can look deeply.
You can look deeply.
You can look deeply.
The longer you sit here in silence and quietness,
The more you'll notice subtle contractions,
Tightnesses,
Places where you're holding on in your body.
If you can relax them,
Relax them.
Otherwise,
Let them continue but surround them.
Surround them with openness,
With welcoming.
Don't try to eliminate anything.
Don't try to eliminate anything.
Don't try to eliminate anything.
Don't try to eliminate anything.
Don't try to eliminate anything.
Notice how just one thought has the power,
Seems to have the power to draw you in.
But in a moment's notice,
At a moment of noticing that,
You can simply drop.
You can simply release that investment.
Return to where you are.
You can easily remove the dragon,
The sweet petals and the dragon.
And just see how you're breathing.
Your listening connects you to what's here,
To what's really happening.
To hear the bird,
To feel your heartbeat.
No interpretation is needed.
Just listen,
Feel the space of this room,
No philosophy is needed.
To encounter the vastness that is within you.
No approach,
No practice.
Be right here,
Right now.
Ten seconds.
CAPCOM Roger.
CAPCOM Roger.
CAPCOM Roger.
CAPCOM Roger.
CAPCOM Roger.
CAPCOM Roger.
CAPCOM Roger.
And even as you are empty,
You might simultaneously experience yourself as empty as you are.
You might simultaneously experience yourself as full.
And you are complete.
If you experience yourself this way,
As a fullness,
What remains is simply a celebration.
Like a flower that has earned its growth and just blooms.
And you are complete.
And you are complete.
And you are complete.
And you are complete.
If we think of meditation as something we are doing,
That means that when the bell rings,
Meditation will stop.
But if we think of meditation as our natural presence,
What is most natural to us,
Then the bell ringing will simply indicate a change.
Not unlike any other change in the environment.
And in truth,
Everything is changing always.
So in that way,
We won't experience our meditation ending.
We'll just be aware of one more change in the environment.
Some changes we might find pleasant,
Other changes we might oppose,
Find unpleasant.
But our deeper root,
Our deeper residence is with life,
With what is here now.
What is here regardless of your preference or lack of preference.
The bell rings.
The bell rings.
The bell rings.
