Welcome friend.
This will be a guided felt sense awareness practice.
So I invite you to get comfortable somewhere where you won't be disturbed for a bit,
Where you can feel awake and focused.
So felt sense awareness is a really wonderful practice to get tuned in to what energy looks and feels like within the body.
This is a great first step for anybody learning to get space from emotions,
As well as learning to see and move energy within the body.
So we'll begin by just taking a few nice deep breaths together.
Really getting present.
Like coming into your body and into this moment.
So felt sense awareness is all about describing emotional energy.
So we always begin by tapping into a certain emotion or feeling.
I will invite you to bring this to mind now.
Perhaps there is a strong emotion already present within you,
Or you want to revisit a recent memory of a time that made you feel a certain way.
I would recommend going nice and slow and easy with this,
Not necessarily jumping into any difficult or traumatic feelings,
Just yet.
But simply taking the opportunity to bring up this emotional energy.
And we will practice our felt sense awareness together.
And this is about getting space,
Taking a step back and getting an objective view of the emotion as energy.
Because all emotions,
All feelings,
All thoughts are merely energy.
So we can get a good idea of what it looks and feels like in this moment.
So once you have identified an emotion or feeling,
You're welcome to label it if you'd like to.
You don't have to.
I want us to take a nice step back and really see this emotion as energy and be open and curious about what it looks like and feels like.
So the first step is to identify where is this emotion or where is this energy in the body.
You can close your eyes and just notice where in your body you feel this emotion most strongly.
It's okay if it is seeming to be in more than one place.
Let's try to identify where in the body,
You are sensing this emotion.
Once you have a sense of that I invite you to see if you can sense the boundaries,
The edges.
Does this emotion does this energy have a shape?
Noticing what the edges or boundaries of that shape look or feel like.
Does this energy have a texture?
Is it soft?
Is it rough?
Is it smooth or jagged or wavy?
Good.
So we've identified where in the body this emotional energy is.
What shape it has taken.
And if it has a texture.
So now I invite you to see does this energy have a color.
And it's important throughout the felt sense awareness practice that you not overthink this.
This is again about tapping into your intuitive sense of energy.
This is not a mental process.
So again we're here describing this energy in the body.
And if it has a color.
Once you have a sense of its color.
I invite you to see if it has a temperature.
Is it more cool or more warm.
Good.
And what about weight.
Is it more heavy or more light.
And then ask yourself is this energy,
Moving,
Or is it static.
Whether it is moving around the body,
Or perhaps undulating or waving or vibrating in place.
Noticing if this energy has a movement.
Good.
So we have identified an emotion as energy.
We've identified where in the body it is.
Its temperature is color its shape.
Its movement.
Its texture.
Getting clear on all the details of this energy.
So we'll sit with this for another moment or two,
Allowing any more details or descriptions of this energy to come into your awareness.
Noticing.
Good.
And the last step of the felt sense awareness practice is to create intentional space around this energy.
So I like to think of it as blowing up a balloon around the energy.
We're just creating space around it.
Again in that open non judgmental curiosity state of mind.
So you can imagine using your breath to blow up this balloon or simply just imagining space opening up around this energy.
And notice if and how the energy changes as you do so.
Good.
So we're just here,
Breathing space,
Opening space around this energy in the body,
Noticing if it changes.
Most of the time the energy will change.
Whether it's changing shape or size or color or texture.
It's okay if it doesn't change to.
Remembering that this exercise is all about just open non judgmental curiosity of what energy looks like in the body or how your emotional energy manifests in the body.
And helping you hone your intuitive power of being able to see sense and feel energy within the body,
Which is a wonderful tool for anybody to have,
But is especially helpful if you are a healing practitioner.
So we'll spend just another moment here.
Tapped into this emotional energy noticing if and how it is changing.
Then when you are ready you can just let go of that awareness.
Take a few nice deep cleansing breaths together in through the nose and out through the mouth.
And then releasing this practice,
Coming back into the present moment,
And the space around you.
And you can take a stretch and open your eyes.
And I invite you to play with this felt sense awareness practice.
Whenever you feel a significant emotion arise and you taking a moment to close your eyes and describe it in detail.
Then taking another moment to breathe space around it and notice how it shifts.
This is a key piece of personal energy mastery.
It was helpful for you.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
