Welcome,

Friend,

To this guided brain vacation,

This sensory journey.

These next few minutes are for you.

Find a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down,

And gently close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in through your nose,

Filling your lungs with air,

And exhale slowly,

Releasing any tension in your shoulders,

Your neck,

Your jaw.

Feel the support of the surface underneath you,

And relax into it.

Now let's travel to a beautiful,

Warm,

Sandy beach.

Imagine yourself standing at the edge of the waves.

Feel the gentle lap of the cool turquoise water at your feet.

Feel the warm,

Soft sand between your toes.

Notice the sound of the waves coming in and out,

Water stretching across the shore.

Notice your breath fall in sync with the rhythm of the waves.

Breathe in the fresh ocean air.

Let it expand your lungs.

What do you smell?

Perhaps the scent of salt,

Of sun-baked sand,

Of suntan lotion.

Feel yourself smile into the warm sunlight.

Notice how the light creates a bright,

Golden glow all across the beach.

Feel the warmth on your skin,

Your face,

Your shoulders.

Take another deep breath,

And feel your entire body soften and relax.

Let's walk down the beach a ways.

As you take each step,

Feel how the velvety sand cushions your heels,

Spreads up between your toes.

With every step,

Imagine your stress dissolving into that warm sand.

Now get closer to the water.

Feel how cool and refreshing the waves are as they lap against your feet.

Bring your gaze upward and look around you.

Notice the vibrant colors,

The deep blues,

Greens,

Turquoise,

Cerulean of the sea.

The soft golds,

Tans,

And creams of the sand.

Do you see the palm trees nearby,

With their lush green fronds swaying in the breeze?

And perhaps you see some tropical flowers,

In vibrant magentas,

Saffrons,

And scarlets.

Take a moment here to simply feel what it feels like to be here on this beach.

Nothing to worry about,

Nothing to do.

Feel the gentle ocean breeze dance through your hair.

Breathe in deeply one more time,

Capturing the fresh air,

The fresh oxygen,

Filling your entire body,

Every organ,

Every cell.

Feel yourself smile again,

Refreshed and relaxed.

Then when you feel ready,

Start to come back into the space around you.

Notice the surface supporting your body.

Stretch your hands and fingers.

Gently open your eyes,

And take this warm,

Sunny,

Sandy beach with you through the rest of your day.
