Welcome to this 8 minute meditation designed to help you release the weight of perfectionism and embrace the present moment with ease and compassion.
Let's take a few moments to center ourselves,
To breathe deeply,
And to let go of pressure to be anything other than what we are at this very moment.
Finding a comfortable seat,
Whether it's on the floor,
On a chair,
Or whatever feels supportive for you,
Slowly begin to gaze towards the floor or close your eyes if that's comfortable for you.
Allowing your body to orient itself into this space,
Elongate your spine,
Soften your shoulders,
And as you breathe deeply,
Feel the connection of your body to the ground beneath you.
Slowly inhale,
Feeling your chest expand,
Feeling your stomach rise,
Holding that inhale at the top of your forehead and slowly releasing it on an exhale as your chest drops.
Another deep inhale,
Noticing all the sensations of your body,
Holding at the top and releasing anything that doesn't serve you in this moment on the exhale.
Breathing one more time,
Deeply inhale,
Feel the ground beneath you,
Noticing how it supports you,
And on the exhale,
Releasing your weight and allowing yourself to be supported.
With each breath,
I invite you to let go of any expectations you've placed on yourself.
There's anywhere in your body where you feel any tightness or pressure.
It may be in your shoulders,
You may feel that tightness in your chest,
Or even your jawline.
As you breathe,
Imagining a softening in those areas,
Resisting the urge to change anything about this moment,
Just noticing yourself as a conscious observer who's in this body,
Noticing these sensations.
Noticing this breath and the next one,
Simply allowing yourself to be here as you are.
As you breathe,
Silently repeat the following affirmation.
I release the need to chase perfection.
I honor my progress.
I embrace every moment as it is.
I release the desire to chase perfection.
I honor my progress.
I embrace each moment as it meets me.
I release the need to chase perfection.
I honor my progress.
I embrace each moment as it is.
Allow your breath to invite the truth that you are enough as you are.
With every breath,
Release the belief that you need to be more,
That you need to do more,
That you need to have more,
To be free,
To be whole,
Or to be joyful.
Bring your awareness to your senses.
Notice what you hear.
Notice what sensations you feel from within or without.
Simply notice how the energy moves around you.
Notice how the energy of now allows you to be exactly where you are.
There's nothing to fix.
There's nothing to do,
And you're existing in your wholeness.
Allow your presence to resonate with you in a way that you may not have noticed before.
Notice how it feels to be in your body,
Occupying this time,
In this space.
Taking a deep inhale and slowly exhale,
Placing your hand over your heart,
Acknowledging this time you've given yourself today.
Know that this sense of peace and this ease is always available to you whenever you need it.
Just come back home.
When you're ready,
Slowly lift your gaze and bring yourself back to this dimension.
As you move forward with your day,
I hope you carry with you the understanding that your worth is not tied to perfection.
Your worth is not tied to productivity.
Your worth is not tied to anything external.
It's found in these moments when you come back home.
